I choose ready salted all the time, can't stand all those artificial flavors they spray on. Lidl large bags work out much cheaper and don't go soggy when opened if sealed again properly, to keep the air out, for many days so don't have to be eaten all in one go.

Me neither. I buy the 24 packs and give away the S & V and prawn cocktail to work mates!
Very rarely are the 24 packs of R.S and C & O on offer though, always fill my boots when they are.

I used to work for Walkers and tried in vain several times to persuade the marketing boys that variety packs don't work.
There are very few people who like all the flavours on offer, hence 24 or 40 packs should be available in single flavour only. You never see a 24 pack of prawn cocktail yet some folk love them, can't account for their bad taste though.

Whereas I am the 'dad' who has to eat the flavours everyone else doesn't like which means cheese and onion which are not very nice for me and also unpleasant for those I then have to talk too.....

Quite — swap the prawn cocktail for smoky bacon and I'd be all over this deal.
