Hi all, I was looking for a sturdy pair of panniers to replace my Aldi ones that have gradually fallen apart with my daily commute. I ordered these Vaude ones and just got delivery of them today.
Ignore the Amazon item description that says the item contains 1x pannier; it is wrong. There are 2x panniers in the box. Amazon list the same pair for ~£77 in another listing! The only downside is that they only come in black at this price.

They look pretty solid. Never used their cycling gear but their daypacks are pretty good quality - I replaced my last one with an identical one!

I've got brand new Altura panniers but I was too tempted by the waterproofness as I want to do a European tour. I just couldn't trust the Altura's. I'll flog them now.
Vaude is an excellent brand in my humble experience. I tossed one around for years hitching around Europe and backpacking. But that was a while ago. Bought a tent recently and seems alright but only time tells.

Yep, Vaude are right up there with Ortliebs. They don't have the simple elegance, or the low weight - but fantastic bags nevertheless...and a bargain at that price.

Paid about £90 for a pair of these a couple of years ago and don't feel too hard done by - at this price, they're unbeatable. Sturdy as heck, great system for attaching to a rack (they unclip when you lift the handle) and bags of room inside.
If I had any complaints, it's that they're a bit heavy, due to the solid back, but better than being flimsy, I guess!
