If your boss tells you that if you reach a certain target by the end of the week you'll get a £4.75 watch you wouldn't give two hoots. If your boss instead told you that you'd get a £1.5k watch you'd get started straight away and make sure that you reach that target.
Successful people use the second mentality and get nice things while others, like yourself, are there complaining and probably saying that it is unfair.
