Top of the range sets from LG still are! Mid range OLED are still around £2-2500 even during the clearout of those mid range sets to make way for this years model's the didn't dip much below £1700...
Mate you aint going to get an OLED for a grand until more manufacturers are competing in the market and production rates hit mass market.

In your dreams! LG hasn't a single competitor in the OLED market yet that can touch em so prices whilst will drop they won't drop anything like you hope for unless they have a manufacturing breakthrough.

I missed that bit so apologies.
Is that legally binding as how else would you know if the set is the right one for you if you can't actually try it out.
Maybe then AO should be given a wide berth regardless as I am sure no other seller applies that strict a condition.

I also bought this TV for £459 a few weeks ago. Overall, it's great; I like Android TV and haven't run into any issues (once updated to the latest version)
BUT
The TV doesn't cover SD channels in glory - I don't know what it is exactly, but they almost look sub-SD. So try to stick to HD or 4K if you can. Also, I've activated the built-in YouView guide, but the channel information takes FOREVER to load; I have to sit on the guide for a good 30s before I can even see what's on... Does anyone else have this issue? Also beware that activated YouView removes your ability to pause/record etc to an external hard drive. Overall however, I don't think you can better this TV at this price point.
Feel free to hit me up with questions if you have any .

That's standard Youview performance...it sucks. It was the same when I tried a BT Youview box. Freeview plus on other TV's is the same, because I went into a shop and made them demonstrate the different guide platforms on different TV's.
Regarding this TV, I have the 55" version and love it. Some of the android apps may or may not still be buggy, but I never use those, I just use it as a standard TV.

I bought a Sony KDL50w805C tv about 3 weeks ago. It initially appeared to be an absolutely brilliant tv with amazing picture but with an unfortunate feature that plagues all current Sony tv models. Its called auto dimming and results in the tv picture becoming dark and light dependent on the scene. Even with the feature switched off it seems to continue to work in the background. It will drive you crazy. Its described as a feature but I would say it was a fault. It makes the whole viewing experience awful. Loads of info on the internet about it so do some research. Sony have to refused to budge on this matter despite the level of complaint it has generated. I'm stuck with my Sony now but I would never have bought it had I known about this "fault"

I don't see what the fuss it about. if it's faulty, they'll come and collect it, if you don't like the look of the TV (if you haven't Turned it on) they'll collect it and refund it.
the TV is excellent, incredible 4k picture

must have returned 4 or 5 tvs to AO and never had a drama, sometimes theyve requested a returns number from the manufacterer but it was sorted in 2 or 3 days and the refund was in bank day after collection.

I second this, I also have this TV, despite all the negative reviews it gets (before recent updates that fixed it) I still bought one done the updates and I haven't had a single problem with it. However AO have a ridiculous returns policy.

If you're not 100% happy with your new appliance, return it for free within 14 days of cancellation
You have 14 days to make up your mind, plenty of time so the returns policy is fair enough.

The thing I'd be most concerned about would be the upscaling to UHD from SD rather than HD ...
I got the 48W705 (on the recent Argos deal - thanks HUKD!) and it does a pretty good job with SD Freeview. HD is of course very good indeed.
