Got to say this doesnt taste nice at all with coke anymore.since they changed the mix
Stuff like Kraken / red Crab is far superior tasting along with Havana 7 if you wish to avoid "spice"
Tastes ok neat

Ironically, Old J is more watered down - Sailor Jerry's is (and was) 40%, Old J is 35%...Old J Gold at 40% is what you really want

I don't know who to believe, but the both taste better than Kraken (which tastes of nothing).

I'd say believe your taste buds. I love Old J but have never tasted the Gold. I've never tried Sailor Jerry either but can say that Old J knocks all the Bacardi variants into a cocked hat. I really liked Redlegs but not as much but, saying all that, I also loved Kraken and rarely mix rum unless it is cheap stuff.
For me, the ultimate is Old J Tikki Fire which is about 70+ abv. With ice it is awesome and I'm pretty confident it'll stand mixing. But at 36 quid a bottle it's not cheap.
