Blimey what's all that tripe about?
It's a low price on a good looking watch from Rotary - a decent enough long-established budget brand. 'Pilot' style is just a descriptive term for a category of watch types, like 'Diver's' watches - how many of those actually sell to divers?
Yes it is a copy of a Breitling but all watch makers copy each other to varying degrees, haven't you noticed? It is what it is - a bargain price for a good looking OK quality watch.

So what does "Pilot Style" mean then? I think it's fair to say that your average cockpit has a clock these days, maybe even two. I'll wager that pilots don't really need to drop the best part of five minutes' salary on this beauty.
If we're talking about a watch that says "Look at me, I'm a pilot".... well I've never yet met a pilot who didn't tell you what he did for a living before the handshake had even ended.
Anyway, if you're not lucky enough to fly a 777 or an F22 Raptor for a living then chances are that this forty quid Argos special isn't going to get you balls-deep in Wetherspoons's finest totty before the night is out, so just pick up a ten quid Casio and spend the change on a kebab, a couple of pints and a few Pot Noodles.
Got a few quid? Well then go an buy a Breitling, but you know what that will say about you? It will say "I'm not a pilot but I want people to think I am." The two pilots I know don't wear Breitlings. One wears a Speemaster like all men should, and the other wears an IWC (Classy, and he's never short of some top blart).
You're not a pilot, you never will be, this watch won't make people think you fly the red-eye from LAX to NYC. Don't kid yourself otherwise.

Cruel but witty. I'd like to read your opinion of Aviator sunglasses of a non Ray-Ban variety?
