Just a warning. The performance of this game at launch was bad enough but on the latest patch it is damn near unplayable, dropping down to 10FPS whenever anything remotely resembling activity is on screen (be it running down a hill or merely shooting). Updates are meant to improve performance but for this game it turned out the other way round. Worse, no word from the dev about if this will ever be fixed. So, buy at your peril.

The frames drop whenever an explosion happens, which in JC3 is nearly all the time (JC = explosions).

as a casual gamer, I have to agree that the lag when blowing things up is really bad

But it's just during explosions right? Not throughout the game

considering 70% of the missions involve blowing **** up, its practically most of the game.

Yep, and there's that too. Widely reported crashes.

As I mentioned earlier, the Just Cause series might as well be called Just Blow Crap Up. You will be blowing things up for the majority of the game. And no, the frame drops affects when you shoot as well. Or turn the camera too quickly (especially when airborne).

If you are going to order, you may keep this in mind Base.com has sent lots of Arabic copies of this game to people in the past, just a heads up.

Heat on the price find OP, but frame rate issues are a factor keeping me away, sadly :disappointed:

Its funny. I'm playing Mad Max currently which is the same developer and im having minor frame rate issues. The must have a dodgy programmer working there.

Mad max is fine. Restart your PS4, it's lagging due to rest mode

I don't agree with the first post, I got it in the last sale and have been playing it (and the two DLCs) for the past two weeks. Yes, it has a lot of frame rate issues especially when 'chaos' happens, but it's not unilaterally broken and doesn't have a tendency to randomly bug out like some games.
Whether it's unplayable or not is purely a matter of personal tolerance - I've gotten used to it and just treat the slow down during explosions like hollywood style slow-motion. If you're someone who hates every screen tear or is jarred by any variation in the frame rate, then sure, it's not going to agree with you. But if you can adjust and play through it then there are dozens of hours of fun to be had on a high-octane level that, honestly, even Saint's Row hasn't yet reached.
And I'm also really glad I got the expansion pass because having an anywhere jetpack and an anytime mech pretty much means you can rip the heart out of any onset monotony whenever you like.
Never had any frame rate issues on ps4? Could depend on your tv quality and settings too? But I got this off eBay for about 13 quid very good game

Buyer beware - there's a bunch of optimisation issues with this game on PS4. Really bad framerates at times as well as longish load times and stability issues (freezing and crashing).

forget any frame rate drops, it's the none stop repetitive town liberation missions and hilarious motorbike physics that ruin the game.
that wing suit is great fun though.

Liberating towns is enough to put you on anti depressants for a year. Save the £20 plus your sanity and buy something with some substance.
