Just been to tesco telford and they hadthese portable dvd players.
Great for the kids for those summer holiday journeys - rechargable battery built in. Cigarette lighter power supply and plug in supply included. As well as some naff headphones.
heat from me. I have a 1 year old, who loves Postman Pat on long journeys!

Yup - 1 year old and a 4 year old here (and two 11 year olds..!).
I picked up two - it may cause more aggro than its worth when the older boys have to resort to making hunerous sentences out of number plates whilst the younger ones have the dvd players!
Postman pat and paw patrol... Going to buy some decent kid friendly headphones though - home bargains had some sound limiters for about a fiver... Probably worth the investment.
Hope its nationwide... 4 year old is currently glued to his (not literally..) first moment's peace i've had all day!

Very good price .
The last portable DVD player that I bought was a Goodman's from Argos in 2004 for £60
It works even now though the battery is not great and doesn't work for more than 10-15 min unless it's plugged in .

Looks and feels like it should be poor quality but does the job quite well, littlen loves it and was a life saver when travelling

Do people still use these...? Just buy a cheap Android tablet and put some films on a Micro SD. No bulky device, battery packs, cables and discs. They also have games once there bored of films. Simple.

Buying this makes you feel you've gone back in time. And with lots of bad things happening around the world, i feel i need this.

My kids have about 100 movies on DVD. Why go to the bother of buying a "cheap android tablet" and faffing about with SD cards/downloading movies when I can just buy this and grab a couple of DVDs for a car journey?
"Hey Dad can we watch the Lego movie in the car?"
"Yeah - let me just turn on the laptop, search for a torrent, download it, convert it then load it onto an sd card and we're good to go!"
"Never mind Dad..."

Android tablet - £60 - micro sd card £15... Downloading films to a pc only to find theyre poor quality - 2 hours...
Uploading to an sd card... 'Format not recognised...' Ahhhhh!
I like 'retro' dvd's - i like having them all lined up on a bookshelf in our snug and actually having the kids choose a film rather than a file on a memory card... It's kinda cool and takes you back to blockbuster video's days!
And call me a geek - but my kids also spend more time on pacman and sonic the hedgehog than they do playing their xbox one... Thats because theyre super cool!

2 hours to download a film.. wow! You do live a "retro" life
Takes minutes these days, micro sds are not £15 (there less) and 99.9% of video formats are recognised on Android devices, no need to convert

' They're' = they are
'There' = ''look - over there... Someone who cares about your opinion - oh, wait... My bad.''
