Bought a pack of 10 8gb from them, 2 were faulty. They replaced with 2 16gb in 2 days. Great CS.

Good for the amount of storage. But it's just so damn slow. If I were to buy again, I'd spend a few pounds more for a quicker flash drive.

Great price for reliable (for flash) storage if storage is all you are concerned with, however I absolutely agree. They have changed the innards and savaged the performance of what used to be amazing pen drives.
Two years ago they used to be £23 for 128GB at 140MB/s. Now THAT was HOT. I returned my last one (£19) after getting only 20MB/s, and you will hear the same thing on past hotUKdeals listings.
Fine, they no longer claim up to 140MB/s and specify realistic speeds, but they are trading off good reputation for producing fast devices and unfortunately despite the outward appearance, the price (which has steadily fallen despite the sudden collapse of the speed) and the "USB 3" write speed, this doesn't bare any resemblance to the quality product they used to sell.
Does anyone know whether the 256GB MyMemory Red pen drives are like? Claim is still for 140MB/s on these and the price isn't bad at £40.

People keep saying this every time this usb flash drive is posted. It isn't true, I get write speeds of over 70MB/s consistently. I did post the results on one of the threads, but this drives has been posted so often I can't find it.
Lexar are terrible quality though, those sliding buttons make the connector eventually come away from the board

No I got it last December (the link of my speed test is from then) and have brought a few more since and they all perform similar.

I have a few of these, the first bought when they first came out and I can never remember them being advertised as being up to 140MB/s or I would have the first one back.
They generally run at 25/25Mb/s at the top end for read and write.

25/14MB/s is not USB3. if you're prepared for low r/w i.e. for use as a static storage device just get a generic 128GB USB2 drive from £Bay for £6. I've got all the kids' films on one, takes an age to copy to it but plays 1080p fine once they're on there

People keep saying that because it's true.
I'm speaking from experience as I bought one in March. When I used it for the very first time I was shocked how slow it was. My other (very old) USB2 drives were actually quicker.
Anyway, I've just ran a benchmark on it's a joke how slow it is compared to yours:
Opening post
You get the Mymemory USB stick with 128GB for £15.99 incl. delivery @ Mymemory.
It's a little bit slow, but nevertheless really cheap.
