Found this camera in the glass cabinet at my local Aldi advertised at £49.99 (down from £69.99.) When I got to the till, it went through at just £24.99! Bargain! There was another one left at my local store (Ecclesfield,Sheffield) but assume nationwide.... Will upload the receipt later if you require proof. Really good solid camera too and it comes with a memory card and case so ready to go!

It's only a bargain if the quality of picture is good, which I doubt as their video cameras are crap

Have you had this? Reviews are all good and seems decent enough to me having experimented a bit with it. For the price, it's a definite bargain. Seems there is no pleasing some people...

Why do you assume it's nationwide? If not on current/revenge special buys (e.g via website/pamphlet), with that sort of reduction, likely to be individual store clearance.
From my experience Aldi goods are cheap and cheerful, they will do a basic job for you. Case in point a few years a go i bort a £50 sewing machine, when i took it to my local sewing machine shop they could not stop laughing and compared it to one of their £100 machines which had a computer chip inside and did a lot of things mine could not do. To cut a long story short they bort my machine for £20 which went to towards buying their £100 machine which i must say is fantastic.( they also give me free lessons when i am stuck). Bottom line dont expect miracles from the camera, get a friend who is a camra expert to give an opinion b4 buyin

So what was their £50 machine like. You paid half the price of what they sold you, sure it would do the job its made for.
Top marks to the salesman in the shop. Wonder if they put your machine out on sale at £50.

Nobody that rates this highly knows anything about cameras, otherwise they would not be rating it highly.
You get what you pay for and there is a reason most bridge cameras are £100+ and most DSLR bodies alone are £200+, whereas this POS sits at £50.
Do yourself a favour - if you have a smart phone don't waste your money on this, your camera on your phone will be just as good or better

I was just about to join in the hate, until I considered something... the 24x optical zoom. I doubt any smartphone or cheap digicam would even get close for quality if you're the neighbourhood pervert, and need to zoom in that much. Tripod extra of course  \o/

In fact, seems to be from 2013, possibly based on an Olympus SZ model, but with some good reviews:
