This is the old model. The new 1 is the 55m3300, which we bought when it was on offer at AO.com for £407 after using discount code & trading in a VERY old TV. It's an awesome TV for the money.

So, since I can't find definitive info on the difference between this and the 'new' model, what are these differences?

Had a feeling it was the old model but like reddit says it's a good price for a 55'' with a two year warranty.

The new model is HDR and is more energy efficient (87w vs 180w)

I do suspect the vast majority will discover they neither want, nor need HDR functionality.
People hate range and just want things bright and loud.

HDR will allow for more benefit over more viewing distances.
How long it will take for HDR to catch on in the mainstream is the key question although with the BBC onboard to aid the development of a certified standard and it's promotion of HLG , it might be sooner than we would generally expect with new TV technology.

Microsoft are making out HDR will be a must for gamers in the near future, we will soon see if it makes a major difference to the picture. I'm not really sure what it is myself lol
