had one of these, lasted 5 mins - tend to be poor plastic.

I agree, have one here in front of me and it just fell to bits when i tried to pick it up half filled with books.

On the contrary, I've had several of these for years. A few of them house records and one is used as a laundry basket.

This is the usual price isn't it? I have loads. They last forever and seldom break.

I used these to move a student to Uni and back and they worked brilliantly. They (the boxes) were stored folded under the bed so as to allow packing of the voluminous rubbish prior to my arrival which aided in a quick escape.
These are similar to cardboard archive boxes - you can put a lot of weight in them but you need to lift and put down carefully. If you 'grab' at them or throw them to the floor the contents will eventually destroy them but with some care they do well.

hold it from the bottom not the handles....
these are brilliant for sorting and storage - i regret not buying them at £1.50 a few years back - I think a bought over 20 over the last year.

+1 for this. Its decent quality withing load limit.
Bear it mind frequent opening and closing may wear down and break the hinges so if you open once in a while and store lightweight stuff it will last a good few months/years.
Same brand/quality also available at Poundstrecher (London Wembley) for £1.99.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. One summer in a conservatory and they recycle themselves into dust, otherwise, great for storing when you need things storing.
