As Zero says, great story and gameplay plus a beautifully realized world to explore. There's a longevity to it, not just simply fulfilling missions to get from point to point or acquiring upgrades. You are rewarded for exploring the world, using your wits and never forced into choosing between stealth or brute force. I should add this applies to the original and to Human Revolution as the second is merely a rubbish shooter with a Deus Ex skin

Remember playing the first one when it came out. Took about 10 re-loads to realise at one section I was supposed to "die"! Excellent game.
Never played the original game but Human Revolution is an incredible game which I have completed 4 times.
Cant wait for August!

Mate, before you get Mankind Divided, have a go at the original. It's seriously IMO the best game ever made - above Half Life, System Shock, etc. Might take a bit of adjustment to the terrible graphics and blocky gameplay, but the story and roleplaying (choices, effects of choices, etc) are mind-blowingly cool.
Tl;dr: Play the original, it's amazing.

All three of the "main" Deus Ex games have been good, even Invisible war. Some don't like IW but I think its fantastic. Havent tried the mobile port but from the looks of it I'm not missing out on much.

The Deux Ex Revision mod re-works a lot of the original to hi-res textures, worth doing to lift the look a bit: Revision Mod(on Steam)
Still one of the great games with or without it though...
