Anybody any idea how long this server takes to complete its POST? I had a Proliant that took an age and was frustrating when used in a temporary desktop replacement application. Thanks.

Could you not set the BIOS to perform minimal post checks?

You should put the full price, then mention possible cashback.
Thanks for posting.

I suppose it is doing more comprehensive memory and other checks, being a server.

Sorry for asking but I don't get how to claim cash back. Can anyone guide in full please. Thanks a million in advance
Even the versions of this server with better CPUs are fantastic value.
I really want to replace my old Microserver, but after a custom Fan kit, it is almost silent - gutless as it is, that is important in the living room as a HTPC

How does this compare to the HP Microserver which pops up often on here?

You would have to go onto a CPU Benchmark site to compare the raw power.
Depending on what you are planning, they each have bundles with some ram and hard disks. I tend to think that 4GB of ram, or a 250GB HDD are worthless and will just wind up in the bin, but they might suit your plans?
The current HP has a real ILO which is fantastic for out of band where the Dell is pretty poor. in a home setup though does anyone really care?
Opening post
I've already posted another deal for this, but this one is cheaper!
Thanks to HUKD member 'missionary' for mentioning this one.
This is actually £143.94 but you get £70 cashback making it £73.94!
