Picked up a couple of the Smoke Alarms posted by 'furion1985' and noticed this engine oil. There were a few on the shelves, but no use to me.
This was at the large Swinton store.

Ideal to keep as an emergency in the boot, should the oil light come on some time.

Far better to check on the dipstick. In most cars the oil warning light is a pressure sensor, not a level sensor, so when it comes on the oil has already been dangerously low for a while.

Why?
Same as it doesn't matter if its a petrol or diesel car being topped up.
granted if you are "topping up" each week and not doing anything about the fault then yes putting a thicker oil in will eventually do damage but not if your topping up in an emergency.

Why would you need to top up in a emergancy ? Unless your car is royally fudged it will consume oil at a very consistent rate, checking and topping up with the correct oil ( not cheap **** ) will means there never will be a emergancy. I personally would use this oil in a lawnmower happily but little else.
