They not worth even a pound, they don't do much.
I have tested it at home first and later in lab, these (and most other similar type) filters do remove about 20-30% of rust and other impurities from water, but other nasty stuff in tap water will stay... And no matter how many times you will re-filter it.
Save your money and distil your water or use revers osmosis filters or get (make one) water ionizer.
If everyone could see what is really in the tap water(you can do so by distilling the water), I doubt they want to lay in the bath for long time.
I rather would drink from the bog, instead the tap.

Don't know what they take out, but the filtered side of my jug is going green (algae?) after only two weeks :disappointed:
