I bought one of these from Amazon Warehouse Deals a couple of years ago, for a similar price. Would not be without it now!
Second generation of Breville hot water dispenser
Fast boil 3 kW concealed element for maximum efficiency and easy clean
Variable single cup dispense -- choose from nine different cup sizes
Manual stop allows you to control flow of water
Large 2 litre illuminating water tank with extra-large rear water window
Never had an issue with it not heating the water enough. Makes a great cuppa. The tea bags are more important in my eyes. Just checked temp on mine for anybody who's interested and it hits the cup at 80c.

it gives you warm water but not boiling hot water . so if you want a real hot cup of tea then this is not for you.

For those of you who say it doesn't boil the water, you do realize that it is the pressure from the boiling water that forces it out of the heating chamber, up the tube and out the spout? Granted it may lose a few degrees on the way out, but it was boiling when it left. Works on the same principle as an old Goblin Teasmade.

Yup, tried this. Not hot enough for tea, and takes ages if you need to do four mugs.

Thats true, it does take ages to boil it 4 times, but thats not what it was designed for. Perhaps you would be better with a kettle.

Thanks for the heads up.
Just ordered as the last one of these i had packed up 2 weeks ago.
I have added Amazon Protect 4 year Breakdown & Accidental Damage Cover for Small Kitchen Appliances from £30 to £39.99 @ £8.50 because the last 2 of these give up after 18/24 months.
I have a breville one cup and it gets the water boiling hot every time. My friend has one too different model but still breville and that one is also boiling hot water. If you do get a crap one that won't boil its Amazon so returning it won't be a problem.

Don't listen, its total bull, these machines are great, as shown by the person above who just ordered another. Shame that it broke but nothing lasts forever and as everything, it all depends on use. Mine gets a lot af use and is about 2 and a half years old but I don't have a clue how long it will last, and I will buy another when it goes. Great price, thanks OP.

The water on my unit comes out hot enough to near boiling. Granted I had to send one back since it leaked but Amazon gave me a replacement unit which is working great.
If you get one and the water is 'warm' then just send it back as faulty. Simples.

Hmmmm, there's a ton of good reviews for this model across the interwebs, and of course some of you guys think it's great, with the odd exception, as is the norm for everything. Still it's a decent price (heat added) and if the water doesn't come out boiling (or near enough) I can always return it...
Thanks all.

I am single, and have had mine for 3 years, no problems with mine and hot enough for my cuppa and packet soup.
would not be any good for large family, but for a single person it's great.

The temperature is approximately 85 degrees which is fine for most.
Boiling water being 100 degrees at sea level - and undrinkable.

These are great, I bought one last year to replace my OneCup which admittedly didn't dispense water hot enough for tea although was great for coffee. The Breville's output is hotter, I've just tested mine and the water temperature was 192° F (89° C), which is perfect for teas that do not require full boil temperatures:
If you're likely to want more than two cups/mugs (it has a variable dispense control) then I'd stick to a kettle as it'll be quicker and more likely more energy efficient, but for a single or couple these are perfect.

Yeah but who is drinking their tea immediately after it is made? No one!
You need proper rolling boil water to make proper tea. If you like **** tea like Tetley/PG Tips/Typhoid then this is probably great for you.

11 Jul 161#30
Exactly, water too hot - such as that straight from a boiling kettle will be too hot and can scorch the tea/coffee, spoiling the taste.
omneity1
11 Jul 16#31
Don't bother with the smaller one as you cannot set the output quantity automatic cut-off and it doesn't dispense enough for a standard sized mug in a single shot.

Also should not be used for making up baby formula.

I have a kettle as well as one of these for when there's more than 3 people wanting a drink.
Great to flick on and leave your tea brewing - how many times do you put the kettle on, forget to go back and pour the water out and then go back to a dry cup when you're expecting a nice strong cup of tea waiting for you ;-)
Also you can play beat the button - hit the button with nothing under the spout and see if you can get a cup out of the cupboard, the teabag/coffee and sugar in the cup and the cup in place before the water gushes out

Boiling water is 100 degrees Celcius. It may be hot, it may be very hot. It's not boiling...as somebody clearly measured above.
Whether it is hot enough is entirely subjective and depends on your usage model but, hot enough or not, it isn't boiling.

Sorry I don't understand your comment but you must have a faulty one. The only problem with mine was the cup size dial, it was a bit inconsistent to start with but its ok now.
