There is DLC for the 1st BioShock (Challenge Rooms) but it was a PS3 exclusive, it's going to be included with the Remaster on all platforms.

You'll likely need more power to, for example, run the game at "High - 1080p/60fps" on the remastered version than you would to run the game at "High - 1080p/60fps" on the original version, because "High" on the remaster will have better graphics than "High" on the original.
The developers will assume, absolutely correctly, that the average gaming PC in 2016 has significantly more RAM, CPU and GPU power available than it would have in 2007 (BioShock) or 2010 (BioShock 2). Bear in mind, the original BioShock is a nigh on decade old game now...

Never mind what? I'm sorry, I really don't understand your question. I don't know if it's me being slow, or you not asking what you think you're asking.
In short, I think the answer to your question is a simple "yes, you'll need more power".
Hope that helps.

Definitely / probably recommend this. Just hoping the remasters are proper quality and not just upscaled-garbage.

Ah right - I saw that listed and just thought it was new to the remastered edition. I see it did come out on 360 later, as part of the BioShock 1 + 2 Ultimate Rapture Edition, but I played the game when it was first released on 360 and then again later on PC so totally missed it. I don't think it ever came to the PC version so I guess I'll check it out when the remastered version is released.

For the record, i've been playing through the original Bioshock on steam and using my xbox one controller which works perfectly.

Q:
Never played Bioshock, would I be losing out or spoiling the experience by playing Infinite first, then looping back for 1 & 2 remasters in Sept?

Bit late but i have just noticed the prices for each title, Bioshock 1 is £1.79 & 2 is £2.29 if you just want to buy those for the remasters.

Yeah, I'd say the ending to Infinite would spoil the other two. IMO, they're best played in order.

Cheers, I just bought 1 & 2. I got Infinite for free (well £1 with £1 credit back) a while ago. Roll on September!

The original and 2 are amazing, infinite is meh in comparison.

I started playing Bioshock One now, as the original PC version, would the remastered version allow me to continue...

Also bought the mystery packs at checkout cus I'm a sucker for those things and a gambler at heart. Got Rooms: The Main Building twice, Bunker twice and Steel Storm Burning Retribution twice (will never play these).
It seems pretty clear to me (the question and the answer by Matt).
The remasters of Bioshock 1 & 2 will almost definitely need beefier machines to run as they are to all intents and purposes "new" games, not polishing what's already there (I.e. It isn't a texture pack).
The only way to be 100% sure is to know the minimum requirements which will probably be released in a couple of weeks. However it is unlikely that the minimum requirements will be Pentium 4 processors and 2GB of ram which is what the originals were.

Amazing price for an amazing game if you ever played it. I loved this game.

hopefully not a daft question, but if I buy these games now, do they automatically just update to the remastered versions come September, or is it a choice, or are they two separate games I.e. I would have access to both?
I guess what I'm saying is that in the unlikely event that they botch the remasters into a buggy mess will I still have access to the originals some how?

No, as long as you don't play the Infinite DLC. 1 and 2 have nothing to do with Infinite.

It looks like the prices have gone up for 1 & 2 separately, unless I'm looking in the wrong place.
£8.99 and 11.48 respectivley.
