Decent price, but it's an insult to Animal Crossing fans.

So, in other words you mean that this whole website is an insult

I just gave my kid for the first time this week. I had heard all the comments about how bad the game was so didn't expect much, but thought there must be some reasonable play value in it and some proportion of the criticism must be from adult gamers without kids. I just can't believe how bad it actually was when I saw it with my own eyes. 3DS Home Designer is such a good game. This one however, you can't use your controllers or remotes (you don't need them). The game is so un-interactive, all you do is read text and watch what happens. Is like a pointless board game really. I watched 2 patient kids last nearly 30 mins, then the game was put away, the disc will never be used again.
It is an embarrassment to Nintendo is what it is. HEAT for the deal though, and yes the 3 cards and 2 amiibo included do soothe the shocking pain of the quality of the game.

OK - here's the thing. This is not really an animal crossing game. But I find it relaxing to play and the amiibo are adorable - so much so that I ended up collecting all 15 of them. I bought at this price and glad I did because it's got alot of variety and the Island Escape game is very good. By the way - I'm a 38 year old man. Let the judgement commence...

My 3 year old loves this game, it's more like a traditional board game rather than something like Mario party.
It's super simple and a little slow with each full game lasting about an hour, also there isn't a whole lot of strategy outside of playing the stalk market.
Outside of the board game are a number of unlockable mini games, Desert Island Escape is great but most of the others will probably only be played once.
The included Amiibo are great and all the additional Amiibo are super cheap now, and they are all compatible with happy home designer and likely any future Animal crossing games.

OK, I guess I wasn't clear about what I said, I meant the game was an insult to Animal Crossing fans.

Lol okay, that's better. I actually ordered this for pick up and after reading all these comments I will be staying away from all of the Animal Crossing games. Maybe except the New Leaf for 3ds.

You would be ruling out a bunch of good books from an author based on one bad book they wrote then. IMHO Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer is one of the top 10 games on 3DS. It is not my cuppa tea, but any young kid will not be able to put it down. Loads of effort and thought gone into making that game.

Games and books are like north and south. I honestly thought the whole series was RPG type games (yup, I know, silly me for only watching like 10 seconds of New Leaf gameplay). Although I am as much of a sucker for RPG and cutesy Nintendo games as the next person, after reading the comments and doing basic "research", I realised that this particular game series is not for me. Appreciate your opinion, though.
