Great deal. It has DP/HDMI MHL/DVI ports too. Very nice monitor for the price I have the older DVI and HDMI model and its served me well for like 3 years

So is this a good gaming monitor for PS4/Xbox One specifically?

It's a bit overkill for consoles. The refresh on this monitor is 144hz and the max on consoles is 60hz. Save your monies unless you plan on getting a PC.

Unfortunately console peasants don't get any benefit from the monitor apart from the 1ms Response Time. Enjoy gaming on your console at 60fps lol

EDIT: Argh Im mixing up model numbers - I'm talking about the XF240H not the XB! OBVIOUSLY! ): Ignore the below
I have this monitor currently and it is great.
Before this one I had the similar priced AOC G2460PF. Whilst the AOC model offers a greater FREESYNC range, I would wholeheartedly recommend the Acer ahead of the AOC model for its vastly superior colour definition and black levels.
Build quality they are equal, AOC has better FREESYNC range and a USB hub, but I'd still take this Acer over it.

I'm a little confused. You say the AOC has 'greater' FREESYNC but this monitor has none. Are you talking about a different ACER?

Shame it's not the Gsync model, still a good deal nonetheless.

Ah feck, I might be mixing up crummy model numbers here.
From the outside its identical to the XF240H, but this is the XB240H!
D'oh sorry. All I can speak for is the build quality, as I don't know if the panels are the same, and it is good - the red looks great in my set up!
Overclockers have a half way decent price on the XF model if freesync is a must.
Will edit my original post - doh!

Ahem video game "peasant" here. I like many other people are fully aware of the fact that higher frame rates are better for a large number of games. Having said that i'm probably not the only person who finds 60fps acceptable on both console and pc. If I had more money to spend on a higher frame rate monitor / better graphics card I would. I really wish the pc master race rubbish would just die off and we could all just get on with doing what we came to video games to enjoy. Video games !

Sadly with the introduction of the new budget cards I think its only gonna get worse for you peasants.

60 FPS is great..even more is even greater. I don't think most console games can do 60 though, but for me the graphics on PC at 1080p are so crisp and nice to look at even 60 FPS on some games would not be enough for my standard. I still play GTA V and look around and think wow..the detail is amazing.

Which is better this or the Acer predator GN246HL?

While the consoles run at 60Hz, many games run at a lower frame rate of 30fps (the frame gets repeated twice).
The ones that do run at 60fps are often at a lower resolution of 720p and then upscaled, certainly on the Xbox one. It's really quite mad that the 'next gen' has got away with this.
