I try to keep away from NVIDIA stuff because of the issues they had a few years back.
Search Google for NVIDIA problems.
Cheers.

What problems you talking about? That is not going to bring up anything specific

That would work better than my last computer with the NVIDIA chip!

The problem is that if you boycott everyone that has had problems in the past you'll be doing your computing with an abacus.

Back up to £199? Or am I missing something

Yes, expired. Currys prices often change on a Wednesday.
If you reserved yesterday, they may honour it, or they may not.

True. However if Google do start to support the K1 chip, then it will be an awesome device. The K1 was designed for high end graphics (think Nvidia Shield). Gaming would be brilliant.

This is the killer for me - no point buying one that won't be getting android apps now.

Actually Acer products are not too bad any more, especially when it is a Chromebook, it often offers performance that rivals the far more expensive brands and outshines most on battery life.

HP Chromebook 11 charges via micro USB. Don't know about any recent chromebooks though.

I've used an Acer C720P (touch screen) chromebook since mid-2014 and it's pretty much covered all my computing needs, making my Windows laptop virtually redundant. Startup time of only a few seconds is a great help. It might be possible for it to support Android apps, who knows !

Shame. I would have expected something as low powered as a NVIDIA Tegra K1 based system to charge/run off USB. After all my Dell Venue 11 Pro (quad core Atom z3770 and 10.8" 1080p IPS screen) can do it. I guess it's the larger screen that draws too much power for that to work.
I never really considered Chromebooks to be laptop computers, but more of a non/less touch centric alternative to a tablet. Basically a device for people who are fed up with unresponsive touchscreens and appreciate the integration of a proper keyboard and larger screen.

Specs on paper make this seem better than it actually is in terms of real world performance. The Tegra K1 processor just isn't optimised for ChromeOS.

Good price, but this gets a bad peacekeeper score VS something like the C720

I have a Acer C720 but would upgrade for a HD screen.
If only ITunes would work on these machines.

Pass, it charges via a barrel type connector rather than Micro USB. Last thing I want is having to cart yet another mains adapters around with me.

I've personally never seen a laptop that uses a micro USB to charge, are you sure this is a common thing?

I tried chrome but found it useless as it does not even support common chatting apps like Skype, viber, whatsapp etc . Only good as Web browser or for Google apps. What good is a computer if voip not possible.

Got this from cex, grade a for £110 a couple of months ago, had no problems at all with sizing and screen. My first look at a Chromebook and the laptop has gone never to be returned..

Read reviews and the screen is poor and being FHD at 13.3" is a downside as it doesn't scale well so everything is fairly small.

This regularly gets put down to £199 but never this low.
FYI this is the 4gb RAM 1080P model, most other places only have the 2gb model
