Wireless controller for Windows 10 including the adapter.
This controller uses AA batteries so you need those or a battery pack. (why oh why does it not come with this, Microsoft?)

Does it only works under W10?

Windows 7 and 8 work too but apparently not so well under 7. Not sure about how well 8 works with it.

Just plugged it in Windows 8 and works fine with my elite controller.

might be worth waiting for the xbox one s controller, which is going to use bluetooth so won't need an adapter.

I don't have Bluetooth on my PC so i am not going to hold out for that.
Heat added OP, great price.

The problem with that is bluetooth on PC is finicky. I found this deal because I was fed up of finicky Bluetooth to get my Dualshock 4 to work on my PC. I'm still thinking of buying a new USB Bluetooth adapter, but every one I see has reviews from people saying they had trouble with connections dropping.
I thought I'd just get one of these Xbox controllers with a dedicated wireless adapter and be done with the problems.

Got two controllers, a wireless adapter and a dual charging station set up with my PC and it's awesome. This adapters so good, only issue if you usually have to connect new controllers by USB first and update them but it only takes a minute

Well you didn't to be fair, you said you were not getting one as your PC didn't have Bluetooth....
If your looking for a Windows controller the Steam Controller is much more versatile and the same price direct from steam.
You dont get the thumb sticks (which can be emulated on the Steam Controller) but you can play just about any windows game with it.

I bought a four pack of Duracell rechargeables. Two in the controller and two charging. If you buy the 2400 Mah ones they last longer than any battery pack I have tried. Three years on with heavy use and still going strong.
