very cheap beard or body hair trimmer from a quality brand, downside is that it's battery operated.

Sorry could have sworn I replied to this last week, I have not noticed any heat from the blades nor from the trimmer itself. I use Lidl Ready to use rechargeable batteries 4 AA or AAA for £3 or 2 C or D

Totally disagree. Both my son and I have one and find them excellent. Great battery life as well, but as soon as they do start to run slow you do need to change the batteries.

Seriously, the battery operated Wahl's are not 'quality' they're cheap as (I've got one). This one is probably worth about £3.49 tops.

I've had to cancel preorder via Amazon live chat which the c's Rep did for me no questions asked but I've got a feeling that sooner or later Amazon will ask for the delivery costs back and as you said it block you from trying to cancel preorder via online account!

Anything forced to Amazon Prime is not really an offer.
Argos is better value and open to public with no fuss of being prime or royal bla bla bla...
Great price for prime members or as an add-on item. Paid £8 for mine from Amazon two years ago. Works well and no cords to get in the way though it is quite noisy in use. I use rechargeable batteries in mine.

My understanding is alkaline AA's are rated at 1.5V (at the initial use - edited) and ni-cad rechargeable's 1.2V ish. Have you noticed any drop in power?
Is there much heat generated in the blade? I had one once and the blade got hot which guaranteed skin irritation!

Thanks OP, ordered to replace the one I bought a number of years ago; a great little trimmer that has come to the end of its life after I got lazy and left it in water and the blades became a little rusty!
For those worrying about it being battery operated and not rechargeable, don't; you don't use it every day and the batteries last a good while. In fact in three years I can't remember replacing mine. I must have but you get the idea, I haven't had to replace them every other week.

Mine have performed faultlessly for a couple of years now so I won't be replacing them anytime soon. Although I do have some Amazon Basics ones as well, and they have been fine so far (although only 6 months old). Maybe you should be looking at your charger? I have a Lidl one that at the time was suspected of being a rebadged Ansmann - and it's superb.

Ordered even though I've got the rechargeable version as I've always wished I had the battery operated one due to the one I have losing its charge so quickly.
