very cheap beard or body hair trimmer from a quality brand, downside is that it's battery operated.

Yes I have one it uses 2 AA battery's, I use rechargeable ones in it, cracking wee trimmer for beard moustache.
I use just one of the length comb attachment which is ideal for me then the trimmer with no attachment to do outline/edges.

Ordered even though I've got the rechargeable version as I've always wished I had the battery operated one due to the one I have losing its charge so quickly. I have Good To Go rechargeable batteries which should work fine in this. Great deal OP. Heat added (this is a prime example of when Amazon Prime comes into its own - see what I did there? :stuck_out_tongue:)

I would replace those good-to-go batteries with something a bit more reliable... all my 7-dayshop batteries are almost okay-to-gone by the time I go to use them

Mine have performed faultlessly for a couple of years now so I won't be replacing them anytime soon. Although I do have some Amazon Basics ones as well, and they have been fine so far (although only 6 months old). Maybe you should be looking at your charger? I have a Lidl one that at the time was suspected of being a rebadged Ansmann - and it's superb.

Thanks OP, ordered to replace the one I bought a number of years ago; a great little trimmer that has come to the end of its life after I got lazy and left it in water and the blades became a little rusty!
For those worrying about it being battery operated and not rechargeable, don't; you don't use it every day and the batteries last a good while. In fact in three years I can't remember replacing mine. I must have but you get the idea, I haven't had to replace them every other week.

My understanding is alkaline AA's are rated at 1.5V (at the initial use - edited) and ni-cad rechargeable's 1.2V ish. Have you noticed any drop in power?
Is there much heat generated in the blade? I had one once and the blade got hot which guaranteed skin irritation!

Great price for prime members or as an add-on item. Paid £8 for mine from Amazon two years ago. Works well and no cords to get in the way though it is quite noisy in use. I use rechargeable batteries in mine.
Anything forced to Amazon Prime is not really an offer.
Argos is better value and open to public with no fuss of being prime or royal bla bla bla...
