London Euston to Glasgow Central £14.

Anyone know from experience if Edinburgh will be on sale as well?

I think not, (that's the East Coast service). Yesterday I just booked an open return to Edinburgh with Virgin as going up for the end of the festival and then probably going to spend a week or so exploring the Highlands, etc.
Best open return was £135, kind of okay as I may well be coming back after 5th September.
This West Coast deal is a good deal for London to Glasgow for £14, as Glasgow to Edinburgh is only about £12 ish (?), and I think that was return too.
I did that myself a couple of years ago, good regular service.
As such it has indeed been included in previous Virgin Trains West Coast sales. What you won't find is a Sale ticket routed "to Edinburgh via Glasgow Central" as Virgin don't run services on any connection from Glasgow to/fro Edinburgh, but others have given you ideas above for routing via Glasgow if the 2 hourly direct Edinburgh doesn't suit.
The OP's reported Summer Sale has NOT started yet - it's stated to be from Tue 5/7 to Thu 7/7. The only link provided so far is to their last Sale link - ie Spring Sale which long since ended.

You can get to Edinburgh on the West Coast mainline too, it just takes longer (around an hour longer from London compared to East Coast). Did it a few months back when they were offering £35 first class tickets.
I don't know if Edinburgh is a destination included in this sale, though.

Good rail links between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Glasgow Central - Edinburgh Waverly.
Glasgow Queen Street - Edinburgh Waverly (Quickest and short walk from Glas' Cent' ).

also there is a megabus/citylink (Stagecoach owned both of them) from glasgiw to edinburgh each way takes only 10mins more than train and they're every 15mins all day long and only £1 booking in advance for specific times. All 100 journeys in a day will be £1 usually.

Not expired - just premature, ie giving you notice!
The current website link - as mentioned several times above - goes to the old SPRING SALE as this upcoming SUMMER SALE isn't there yet.

prices currently £8 each way. worth sitting it out for £4 each way??

Yes unless you are travelling very soon. You can usually get peak time trains at the sale price if you book as soon as the sale starts.

25 Jun 16#18
This is usually brilliant as you cna get pretty much any train even at peak times for the cheap prices. And even if you've been looking and a certain time is deer it will become cheap in this sale. It's great. Also probably be more fares than OP stated, e. G. Preston to Birmingham for £4 usually.

25 Jun 16#21
Think it really depends on your attitude to risk. If you NEED to travel at a specific time and can afford that Advance @ £8 now it may be wise to lock in that fare; otherwise be aware that by the time a possible £4 Sale fare appears those £8 tranche Advance fares may long since have been sold..
If unfamiliar with the various price bands, you can use the BRFARES website to check them - eg if it is for Preston-Birmingham: http://www.brfares.com/#!fares?orig=PRE&dest=BHM
ie once an unknown # of £8 sold, the price keeps rising up ever closer to the £47.50 Single walk-up fare
eg I often gamble when I don't know when a performance or flight might arrive and say buy TWO Advance tickets eg for 10pm and 11pm trains on the basis that 2 x £3.60 & wasting one or two, versus £45 for a walk-up Single!

hot deal if you can go on the dates and times available.
Of course getting discounted ticket is good provided network rail don't mess up the tracks on the day you travel!

Wow I am excited to book from London to Carlisle, does anybody know if I can book more than one return ticket and how much London Carlisle fare will be on sale for and if this information on the start date is accurate

Historically while the offer of Sale tickets has been limited as to which services they're for, and how many in total are available, you as a purchaser aren't limited in any way - ie you can buy as many as you can find available on their website - BUT Sale tickets weren't available for EVERY service, so the earlier you look the wider the choice of routes, dates & times that will be available.
Sale tickets are similar to Advance tickets in being SINGLE and for a SPECIFIC service only (ie miss it and you lose it!); ie you'd need to find a London->Carlisle Sale ticket and a Carlisle->London Sale ticket to complete your trip.
From the OP's prices, I'd expect £12/single for London-Carlisle, in Standard Class. Previously they have also offered First Class Sale tickets too.
I'm not aware of any VTWC official announcement, we're just trusting the OP has some insider or preview knowledge. Certainly their foresight is consistent with what VTWC did last year.
If I remember correctly Sale tickets are usually sold as Adult singles without any opportunity for Railcards, so sometimes an Advance ticket with a Railcard can be better value for some railcarded groups particularly.

I've done V West coast to Edin via Glasgow, all on one ticket, on virgintrains.co.uk choose dep and arriving stations and date times etc, when it says transferring you to East Coast underneath that click "stay on virgin trains" and select more options and add "via" then Glasgow, usually it adds a few quid to the V sale price to terminate Edinburgh but nowhere near the Scotrail single price of Queen St to Waverley

Single standard Advance £30
It is £30 to Glasgow Central or Edinburgh Waverley on the above ticket connecting to the next train, which is a saving of £12.50 off peak or £13.60 peak on a single from Scotrail
Great spot, and you really should draw MORE attention to that Virgin official announcement that you've linked to, as it not only confirms the OP's post (5 days after OP gave us the heads up!), but gives quite a lot more detail of what's going to be offer and where.

do the 2 for 1 attractions voucher work with these tickets as it states to present the voucher with Virgin East ticket?
mk-donald to whoMODStheMODS
3 Jul 161#35
If you've found an attraction offering 2for1 when you have a Virgin Trains East Coast ticket then a Virgin Trains West Coast ticket shouldn't be accepted, though always worth trying if you were going anyway as the worst they can do is identify your ticket doesn't meet their criteria and say no = where you were already.
It may well be though that you are just looking at an attraction's offer "from the viewpoint of VT East Coast" ie where VTEC are saying "if you have one of our tickets you can go 2for1"; ie they're not saying "ONLY if you have one of our tickets...".
NB This Sale offer is live now - ie appearing on their website early - ie today Mon 4/7 - just made a few bookings!

only my return fare was cheaper on a 1 hour later train. I shouldn't complain as £12 return is mighty good compared to the £60 odd I pay sometimes.
Opening post
London Euston to Birmingham £4 each way.
London Euston to Manchester Pic, Preston, Liverpool £10 each way.
London Euston to Glasgow Central £14.
Standard Class.
