Its always online, logged into their servers etc but you can play on your own. However, the game is built around 4 man grouping for both PVE and PVP (the pvp is absolutely horrid though!)
Its a huge pile of wasted potential but at its core a great game.

Great game, got 2 "free" updates recently which has made the game what it should of been from release. I've solo'd a lot of this game including the Dark Zone PvP, which can I add is gaming genius but you will enjoy it more as a group.

Damn good game. Been playing solo and its excellent. Of course I've heard the complaints about it being too all the same but name me a game that isn't. Same thing was also levelled at Destiny which is another excellent game. The Division is also one of the finest looking games of this generation. Well worth playing.

100 hours. Can be played alone but it's much better in a group. First game to get me to mic up. Don't venture into the DZ alone.

I often go into the Dark Zone alone. 9 times out of 10 if I meet a group there will be a pause and you look at each other for a couple of seconds. If they see you are not hostile they tend to invite you to their group or just go on their merry way. I have come across morons who camp entrances but not as much as I thought I would.
