Tesco deal is good...voted HOT...but I opted for the 2-1 Meerkat movies.....for 12 months. Purchased travel insurance £1.42 and now access to the 2-1 until 20th June 2017 !!! Thank you .

This deal is 2 tickets for £3 PLUS you get cleaning products that you can probably make use of. You can claim multiple times and the tickets are valid until November so it's not like you can only use this method to gain 2 tickets


I'll make the comparison easy by asking just one question - the next time you go the cinema to use a 2 for 1 meerkat code how much will your two tickets cost you?

something i discovered recently is buying ecodes on ebay for cineworld. Two for £6 (you need to book online so it costs 50p per booking) £7 for two cinema tickets which can be used any day of the week

Do both cinema tickets have to be used at the same time?

It costs the price of one ticket at a cinema (depends where you go) and the 2nd one is free, so if your ticket is 8 quid, it costs 8 quid for 2 tickets, thats a £8-10 saving per week, so if you used it every week

52x8 =£416

You could save as much as 400 quid just by spending £2 on travel insurance and using your weekly code.

Not to add fuel to the fire but is this not a backwards way to think about it? It costs £3 for two tickets here and it costs £8 for two tickets through Meerkat (it's sometimes more like £12 in London). To be fair there's a £4 charge for orders under £40 which would bring it to £7 (still £1 cheaper and can go any time of the week).

I've got the Meerkat deal and think everyone should get that but while this deal lasts, as long as you're happy going to a Cineworld, this deal is better.

Actually YOU are wrong. Purchasing travel insurance as I did for 1 day...DOES qualify you for 2 for 1 cinema tickets for 12 months. I have done so last night and have 12 months until 20th June 2017, have my first code and receive 1 code per week for the remainder of the time.

So I can claim this as many times as I want during the offer? As long as each claim is on a different receipt and a different day?

It won't be £3 minimum spend by the time this offer starts in store though. States from 28th June and all the offers for wipes and antibacterial spray at £1 end on the same day. They might have more offers, but I'd expect to be paying full price during the promotion. Also states that purchase made between 20th June and 28th June do not count for this promotion, so nobody rush out this week hoping to make a claim.

Not seen any films that are only 1 hour long recently...

Also, you could have saved yourself £2 quid - get one of the insurances you actually need changed on there, makes it a freebie benefit not a cheap workaround.

Just tried to book a back-pack holiday in the UK and the minimum insurance period in the drop-down box is 1 month. Then it comes up with 'None of our panel offers insurance for this trip'!! What travel did you select?

Working full time during the week, children, no baby sitters etc means we've never been able to go to the cinema mid week since we were carefree students (20 years ago). So it's not completely unusual not to be able to take advantage of the 2 for 1. However, £2 for a years worth of 2 for 1 is pretty good.

The Tesco deal will always be better as it's two tickets for £3 as opposed to two tickets for £10/£12, but this Tesco deal isn't going to last long. They're both great offers and no reason why anyone couldn't take advantage of both. Anyone arguing that point is just being daft!!

I have never heard of a movie being only one hour long. Most of them are an hour and a half. And some people may not even have that amount of time (plus travelling could add up massively).

Also, the latest you can use these tickets are by 25th November. Just stock up on the items you'd probably already buy and save up to £13. Also, you can do this once a day, every day. So technically, this is a very cost efficient way of getting cinema tickets.

Alternatively, you can just buy odeon tickets from eBay for £4 each which is available whenever (as long as the sellers are still up and running).

The Meerkat offer would cost me more than this as I won't use it more than once.
If I was going even a few times a year I would take the meerkat offer, but would still do this one simply because this costs £3 odd for 2 tickets, 2 tickets on the 2 for 1 deal will cost almost 3 times as much.

Just filled out a claim and it never asked me to upload a receipt either the first time. I tried again as I have bought multiples of these on different receipts but using the same clubcard and a different email address. I was then prompted to upload a receipt which was weird , I proceeded to upload my receipt , then it wouldn't go through as I had exceeded the daily limit of claims , wtf ?

The terms clearly state one claim per customer per email address per day ...... Great (I thought) However , when filling in a second claim with different email address it is blocked stating only one claim per day is allowed !!! Weird ...... They're terms are conflicting with the way the website is setup to refuse claims with the same clubcard regardless of the different email address.
It'll go in tomorrow I guess !

Cineworld booking fees are a rip off, but at least you get to choose your seats.
The booking fee can be avoided by presenting you codes to the cashier in the cinema rather than booking online , but personally I'd begrudgingly pay the booking fee to save time and guarantee my seats where I want them

I have already claimed and received my first two tickets/codes after an in-store purchase with a clubcard and I wonder if anyone can help me with something...

What will happen if I try to return the 3 products I bought and get a refund for them? Is there a chance that the codes will be cancelled? What if I return them after the 19th of July that the promotion will have ended?

i doubt anything will happen to your codes but if Tesco see an influx of cleaning products being returned (vs a typical period) the chances of them running a similar campaign in the future will diminish.

that's what I thought about the codes, but I didn't think of the possible tesco reaction.. still, I don't think many people will get into the trouble of returning staff for ~5£.. (maybe some cheap mofos like me :neutral_face:)

Think I've been thrown by this before on Cineworld's website. Without looking I think when you have codes for individual tickets you enter these right at the start of the booking process where you select the number of tickets. So instead of choosing what tickets you want there is a box at the top where you enter each code. You just keep entering codes until you've got the seats you want. You then follow the normal process of choosing your seats etc. and of course it will add the booking fee which you will have to pay. It sounds like you are trying to add the codes at the end where you have the option of using gift cards/ vouchers.These require a pin number.

Update to my earlier post - the Cineworld codes requested on Saturday morning arrived Thursday afternoon.

It's annoying that you don't get any sort of reference number with your claim. I have submitted more than one with the same email address but on different days. Now have no idea which claim has been processed and which hasn't. I can only presume they do them in the order they are submitted.

Hi has anyone claimed the tickets without a clubcard? I've lost mine and am not sure they will accept the claim wihout a clubcard, as you dont receive a confirmation email.

You only need to chose 'dont have a clubcard' then you have to take a picture of your receipt and fill the form in.. There won't be a confirmation email.. But I have done both- with and without clubcard- and got the one without through after 3.5 hours and the one with the clubcard after 24hours.now waiting since Saturday the 9th for my second lot.. Again one with one without clubcard...

Am I only one who has submitted without a clubcard to not get an email or its the same for all? I submitted one yesterday and did one today - no email for either - wonder I will get any tickets or just end up with a cupboard full of dettol handwashes :smile:

The first one I got within a couple of days but for the 2nd one I have been waiting for over a week and still no codes. Strange.

Currently waiting for 4 claims from last week. Decided to not submit any more until I have had these back. I've got the receipts ready but thought if I leave it 2 or 3 weeks and then submit it might be quieter.

Have to say this was a cracking offer. Everyone's a winner. We get mega cheap cinema tickets. Cineworld fill what are likely to be empty seats and people spend on concessions and Reckitt shift a load of cleaning products. Hope they run it again.

I am still waiting for my first claim which is now 11 days ago.

I submitted another yesterday, for the last day of buying the products from Tesco.

Finally got my cinema codes today - 10 days on from when I submitted using the "I have a clubcard" option. :sunglasses:

I submitted 2 claims on the 14th one with clubcard and one without. Theu had different email address. I received the codes for the claim i submitted with a clubcard, but havent for without a clubcard...anyone experience a similar issue?

I did 4 on one day, only one with clubcard, two have come back with codes, but nothing from the other 2 - seems fairly random.

Did 3 last week Thursday and yet to get anything - the wait continues.

Up to 14 days wait , some of mine were processed within 2 - 3 days , others 9 - 10 days. Still waiting on my last 4 pairs but it has only been 4 days wait for these so far , confident they will all arrive though .

8 pairs of tickets received , 4 pairs remaining.

Did the 1st one on 16 Jul and 2nd one on 17th. Not heard back from either yet which is annoying as I want to go and see something at the cinema!

Because I have very little patience anyway, and it seems some folk have got codes within a couple of hours while others have had to wait the full 2 weeks. I'm annoyed I seem to be heading towards the latter group.

People were getting them in a few hours when the instore offer first started and they obviously had few claims to process. My first couple of claims I got back in less than 24 hours but since then I have been waiting up to 14 days. I don't think you'll find anyone has recieved the codes in a few hours for some time now.

They haven't taken down the advertising banners promoting the 2 free cinema tickets on the tesco website! Does that mean its still valid? Product prices have changed though!

Its been 9 days for purchased with Clubcard and still no tickets. Any advice?

​I think that's there for claiming purposes, however the purchase period has now closed, so would be unlikely that they would accept.

If you are not intending to use them within the next week then I would suggest everyone to chill till their 14 days are over at least so as to not burden them with having to reply to everyone's emails.

I've received my email with the two cinema tickets codes today.

Put 3 requests two weeks back - just got 1 of them - still waiting for the other 2 - I think they are just overwhelmed by the number of requests and shifting through it slowly.

Does anyone know if meerkat can also be used along with this?

Well done to everyone taking advantage of this deal, i totally forgot and then only remembered on the very last day so only managed to do it once.

I've just got my tickets today and theres nothing really in the T&C to say they cant be used with other promotions.

Has anyone used them as part of a 2 for 1? I wanted to check to see if they could be used on the CEA cards (People with disabilies can take 1 person free)
