We have 2 of these watches in our house. My wife runs with a Tomtom Runner (this watch) and I used a Tomtom Multisport, which is basically the same as this one, but allows you to Cycle and Swim as well.
In terms of the battery life, I would say 6 hours is more realistic, but that should be perfectly ok for most runners.
In comparision to the prices of the Garmin watches the TomTom watches are certainly cheaper, but they do miss some features which the Garmin watches have.
I would personally much prefer a dedicated running watch than using an app on a phone. A lot smaller and ligher to carry when running.

Good deal. It's also available at Sweatshop for that price but delivery is £4.99 there. (Plus Sweatshop is owned by Sports Direct, which will put some people off).
There is an old 20% off code in vouchers that would make this £49 delivered!

Called Sweatshop as this describes what happens after you become worried about trying to take something back?

Do you plan on running for longer than 10 hours?

10 hours with GPS turned on.
If you look at the basic Garmin Forerunner 10, that watch is only specified as 5 hours.

I assume this is a watch you wear just to run considering it has a 10hr battery!
Is this any superior than gps on your phone? With an app running?
I would be more inclined to get a high end Fitbit such as the Blaze myself;) .. You get what you pay for!

Mine is quite a bit more accurate than the GPS on my iphone6.
