This is about 5 times the weight so drilling small holes to hang pictures and the like isn't really its thing unless you have shoulder muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Conversely, for drilling big holes in walls, digging down for fence posts, breaking up larger concrete lumps, drilling through old farmhouse walls a foot thick, its superb. Depends on what you want to use it for.

This the 5kg or 3kg version? I've got the 5kg which is heavy but a very good drill for the money and I'd definitely be interested in the 3kg one as well.

Don't buy the impact driver set though. They're crap.

I have one of these and it is absolutely invaluable. It is very heavy duty and will chip or drill through concrete with ease. I bought it a couple of months ago for £50 odd and I've used it several times since. The closest you'll get to a pneumatic drill for anywhere near this price.

bought this yesterday after the heads up here. so far so good, chisel function on pure hammer mode is incredibly useful, I was making a concrete channel wider, to run some conduit through, ate through it with ease!

I'll be using it to put in some fence posts this weekend, I think I'll be just fine should I encounter any stone

I have had this a good few years and bought it around this price, the drill itself is a beast.... I'll be honest I've absolutely battered this drill and it still comes back for more.

I've just purchased and played/worked with mine purchased form Newtownabbey branch. Oh yes ! It comes with a chuck adapter as well. I knew it was 5Kg however when I opened the box at home we were surprised by the sheer size of it. Needs lithium grease added recommended each 5 hours of use. How do they compare to Bosch ?, i bort my bosch over ten yrs ago and it is reliable

This also has rotor stop which is better than some sds drills which doesn't have this feature ideal for chipping out chunks on concrete etc.

As del00 above, used this to dig out holes for new fence posts. Dealt with stones, flint, concrete no problem. Also used it when installing a new kitchen when my hammer drill refused to break through whatever was behind the plasterboard. Knife through butter - nearly took the wall down.Great bit of kit for heavy duty tasks.

Best tool I have cost vs usefulness.

Had one years and given it hell and it's still going strong, WELL worth the money.

Great bit of kit for the price - it has come in very useful over the last 9 months I've had it, and has taken a bit of abuse. Got one at the recommendation of my Dad and would happily recommend to others!

This drill is brilliant. Could not have dug the holes for new fence posts without it. I bought the long drills from Lidl to loosen the earth and stones and the chisel bit provided for breaking the concrete. Post hole digger to remove the rubbish without bending over. Saved a fortune on commercial fence erectors. So many uses for this beast. Ordinary drill cannot compete with hard tasks which this is designed for. Very heavy and not for hanging pictures etc.
