Amazon is selling Taylors coffee beans Rich Italian (strenght 4) 2x1kg only £15.83, also free delivery if you spend £20.
I've tried many beans since I own my lovely Delonghi Magnifica bean-to-cup machine and always come back to this coffee it is so good, beating Lavazza and overpriced Illy in my opinion and for this price especially. Works out under £8 a kilo but you can have it even cheaper with subscribe & save 5%off.
Hope it helps someone, check out great reviews too.

The problem with a 1kg bag is shelf life once it is opened.

Just try Italian Job directly from RAVE Coffee.
Freshly roasted beans by reputable roasters.
They about £9.50 a kilo (plus £2.50ish delivery for orders under £25)
So fresh that you should wait 7-10days for the beans to de-gas properly.
Not the Amazon old beans.

Always found rave coffee a bit hit and miss, Colombian Suarez was always a good choice after they stopped doing the cuban serrano superior, the new dark Chatswood blends not bad though.
Good deal on this if you are getting through it fast.

Yes many coffee "experts" say you should keep beans in the freezer, I think ground coffee in the fridge also which is what I do. I think it has something to do with the preservation of the flavour of the coffee

The aldi beans at about 1.69 for 250g are great too

The flavour of coffee deteriorates because of oxidation (ie reaction with oxygen in the air). The lower temperature in the freezer slows the reaction and so slows the deterioration. Keeping the coffee beans in an airtight container also helps by restricting the supply of oxygen. When you buy the coffee it is sealed in a bag and flushed with Nitrogen and there is no need to keep in freezer.

putting ground coffee in the fridge just results in it losing its taste and aroma in my experience

I really like this coffee - heat added. Great price.

Great price, I just paid the same for 1kg. HOT.

Will that effect the temperature of the coffee ? Some bean experts say just keep it in a sealed container out of sunlight stored in a cool area.

It must be an Airtight container or condensation can taint it.

that's true, condensation will create moist and kills it. i just keep it in the cupboard in airtight container.

This is good coffee. Every so often it will be on offer at £2 per 227g bag and I'll get a few dozen, but this is even cheaper.

putting these in an airtight container in the freezer isn't going to accomplish much. the beans in this bag have likely been roasted many months before and the staling process is already in full swing. That doesn't mean you won't enjoy it, but the coffee is already stale when you bought it and opened the pack.

Putting coffee beans in a freezer to keep them fresh is a complete myth. There's only one thing that coffee likes less than air - and that's moisture.

Sorry but you are wrong on that one If you don't use much coffee you need to keep it in the freezer There will be no taste difference from fresh

It's worse than that. Putting coffee beans into the freezer is about the worst possible thing you can do - short of dumping them into a vat of acid.
These are delicate little beans, with a flavour to match - hopefully. Freezing them destroys all the best characteristics. Just reseal the bag to keep it as airtight as you reasonably can and it'll be fine for a month or so.
