Might need something a bit more substantial to really do the job.
Often these come with small screws that would not resist any real attempt to force entry.

One solution, but high maintenance and running cost compared to mechanical devices and some risk of attacking unintended targets.
On plus side though more proactive, bigger deterrent and doubles as portable bodyguard.
Personally I think the future may be those mini CCTV systems, then you can see who is there with a closed door.

I laugh at these as security devices, I always used one then my daughter aged about 4/5 came barging in the house as if it wasn't on and broke it open. If a small girl can do it by an accident at that age I just fear a grown man coming to attack you might also be able to break it.
