I'm sorry...
A DEMO??
Demos are always free... That's the point.
Hardly makes it a deal does it?

What's the cheapest way I can get PS+ if I literally just want to play this?

Get a trial or buy a short membership.

There's away of getting a 2 day trial, if you go into storage management -- set up an online backup thingy and it'll say you need a PS+, then offer a 2 day trial.

I have played it. It is creepy and atmospheric but very short. Ten minutes short.

I guess demos really do count as deals these days.

The setting is an abandoned rural American house with rotting bodies and mannequins. A handful of rooms, and a few collective items.

Is every demo going to get posted as a deal these days?

It's an hour long. Full game trial, not a demo.

That's a demo, the full game hasn't even been finished yet.

My guess is it's not full game, but the first episode. Hence "Beginning Hour". Looks like they're going to release it as episodes like they did Revelations 2.

Who go through such a convoluted process when there's a three-day free trial option in the PS store?
hobbes748
14 Jun 16#18
I've just looked it up on my PS phone app (I'm at work). It's showing up as a full game trial rather than a demo. What's the difference?
Oh wait - just read the comment above. Question answered.

14 Jun 16#23
The demo isn't a freebie, as it requires PS+ to play it, so requires a purchase  it's more of an addition :smirk:

14 Jun 161#24
And to add to that, this isn't even free. You have to buy PS+

Its alright, not quiet as tense as PT. Standard lock and key mechanics. Looks nice. Not sure how it will play with a VR Headset and controller, always makes me feel like puking when using that combo!

Not sure how a free demo is a deal?
bilbob
14 Jun 16#33
The point is, where do you stop? You could draw a parallel with EA Access on the xb1, it wouldn't be right to post a 'deal' every time a new EA game neared release so you could play SIX hours of the full game for 'free'...

I don't think that gets you exclusive content. I could be wrong though.
bass2655
14 Jun 16#42
It's a full game in the sense Street Fighter 5 was, missing lots of content such as zombies, guns, story mode, character animation and voice acting is done using back catalogue of resident evil 1 sound effects.
But not to worry by the time the game is released it'll add one of the missing features above and the rest will release monthly as dlc.

Except having a membership does so getting a short one still would.
I would read what people put.
MrCollective
14 Jun 16#44
Yep in 1994 and they came free with Magazines.
These days what we previously called a demo is now commonly called Alpha / Beta or Early Access with a publisher wanting your money asap for game that is just about stable (If you are a lucky)

Steady there, skippy, calm down. It was just a guess. I don't much care which way they're releasing it, I was just making a suggestion to explain the short length people were talking about. What they've actually done is so stupid, it really didn't occur to me as a possibility. Estimations of Capcom duly downgraded.

CD Keys. Use a laptop or desktop PC and go to their facebook page and like for 5% discount. They sell the cards at a discount anyway so you get an additional £5 off. Typically a £35 card costs £30 doing it this way.

Set up a guest account on your PS4,
Dont use the same email address as your primary account it must be a different one, then once you have set up the guest account you should be able to go on the PSN store and get a 2 day trial of psn+ for free.

So to get this demo, you have to pay £6.
I'm used to much crap from Sony, but now asking people for a subscription fee to be able to download a DEMO is quite pushing it.

Yay for Resident Evil 7! That said this is trying so hard to be P.T it's ridiculous. Also I literally finished the demo in under 5 minutes...what the hell. Played it through a second time and finished it by a different means so I guess they want you to replay it several times. I think.

I pay annually, but you can buy a month for £6.
Its a shame I have to explain that...no suprise though

been stung off console makers too many times over the last 20 years (Sega 32x, ps vita etc etc) no matter how many fancy hardware demos they bring out and believe me this is a just a big demo) there's no way I'm touching ps vr or ps 4.5 for that matter with a barg pole. so I'm voting cold cause I'm not getting conned again!!!!

Whats wrong with trying to be pt? im glad they are trying something like this since pt doesn't exist.
yeah I finished it quickly, there is multiple endings, all roughly the same.

Has the world gone mad,you now have to pay a subscription just so you can try a demo of a game that is designed to entice you to buy the full game,so essentially you have to pay to be advertised to.
