I've just spotted on Twitter that Morrisons have an offer on this weekend for Father's Day. The usually £4.50 priced Big Breakfast is down to £2.50 both today and tomorrow until 12pm.
"Treat him to the Daddy of all breakfasts at Morrisons Cafe for only £2.50 this #FathersDay"

As a sausage and fry up snob - this was actually awesome! Got a free black pudding when I asked, runny egg, free extra toast, well cooked bacon, not into mushrooms though, but best part was the quality of sausage, 90% pork

I think as a treat to go out for breakfast is something a bit different and if you don't mind where it is being together is all that matters really. Yes it is unhealthy but as long as you are sensible the rest of the time I don't really see the harm in it for one morning. I rarely have a cooked breakfast but you know what I might this morning;) enjoy your day:D

Morrisons is usually full of screaming kids which spoons isn't. If you sit outdoors there's no usually any beer fumes. Neither is there indoors in most branches as they clean a lot!

18 Jun 16#82
Nothing wrong with the quality of Wetherspoons breakfast but who wants to breath in the stale beer fumes from the night before whilst you're eating it? Morrisons is much more pleasant.

Are people concerned about freshness with breakfasts, as long as its hot when it reaches you. The quality is better at Wetherspoons than my local Morrisons.
Although this is a good deal considering the normal price, but don't you get a free drink with any meal which is £4.50 at Morrisons?
neurotica
18 Jun 16#75
been before, never again. food was Cold, and it's all reheated. I kid you not, it comes in frozen. in a supermarket. they're not even allowed to go get stuff from the shop to cook.
timothyw9
18 Jun 16#74
Not entirely sure if fresh is the right word for Wetherspoons, given most breakfast stuff is hot held (although usually for less 30 minutes).
neurotica
18 Jun 16#73
unlike the morrisons breakfast
boyaloud
18 Jun 16#72
It's very good and made fresh but Wetherspoons is just as good and made fresh with much much better service (marathon queue to order/pay at Morrisons then often long wait for it to come) in a more quiet and spacious environment with option of outdoor seating at most too. Also much cleaner and tidier as Spoons have amazing cleaning regimes. (Never worked for them). And cheap every day.

Depends on the store. My local morrisons is the best place to go to on a weekend for a cooked breakfast, and the cafe is never more than like 25% full on a saturday/sunday morning.
mistermoneysaver
18 Jun 16#63
Tbh I would rather take my children (yes im a dad) to a beefeater. If one adult pays for a premier breakfast, the kids eat free. 8.99 for as much as you want. Works out a bit more if the misses tags along mind!
I have definitely had a half price breakfast at Morrisons - d't know if it was 'fathers day' offer....
And everyone got it for half price - without a 'father' in sight.
I rarely eat in any supermarket cafe, but must admit when I do go to the one near my parents (Uuuup North) the food is excellent quality.
As others have posted, most meals are cooked to order..... evening meals come with free tea or coffee.....
I frequently ask to swap items - eg I don't like chips, so will ask for new potatoes or jacket potatoes...
And with breakfast I swapped fried bread and sausage - for lots and lots of extra bacon.
Can anyone else confirm THIS current offer is only for 'fathers'?
Thanks

I love Morrisons breakfasts.
I get them every now and then. Only complaint I've ever had really is that about 5 years ago I went there once and my hash browns were so overcooked they had gone completely solid... Forcibly stabbing them with the cutlery didn't even make a dent in them. They happily took the dish back and gave me some fresh ones in a matter of a couple of minutes, though. Never had any other problems besides! Really tasty food, and for the price (even when the right price) for the amount you get, great value as well.
Shame black pudding doesn't come as standard but you can ask for it as an extra, I think it's 50p or 60p or something for a couple of slices.

WhySoMiserable
18 Jun 163#55
I think this is a great deal, and I'd much prefer one of these than my four kids (2yrs - 11yrs) making me a home made roasty.... burnt potatoes, muck and grease all over the kitchen, having to supervise them (hardly relaxing), oven to clean, dishwasher to load and unload... then there's the cost of the food - which would no doubt be burnt if the kid's are making it... Each to his own though!

Morrisons in Watford i have never had a bad meal at and I find the breakfasts fab. All freshly cooked to order and no sitting under hot lamps getting all dried up like a lot of other supermarket or department store Cafès. I believe they use market street ingredients too.
