I've just spotted on Twitter that Morrisons have an offer on this weekend for Father's Day. The usually £4.50 priced Big Breakfast is down to £2.50 both today and tomorrow until 12pm.

"Treat him to the Daddy of all breakfasts at Morrisons Cafe for only £2.50 this #FathersDay"

The picture is a fair reflection as I had one last weekend, however a coffee is about £1.20-1.70 and no re-fills included

Treated the boys a few weeks back to one of these (only way i could get them in a supermarket), i was pleasantly suprised at the standard, looked very much like the picture, nothing like MuckDonalds. A good excuse to get them shopping with me again tomorrow, great price thanks

My kids are cooking me a Sunday roast. Each to their own, the idea of sitting in a crowded supermarket cafe with screaming kids isn't the way I'd want to spend father's day. Your ideas may be different to mine.

I think there breakfasts are pretty good, not greasy . A nice idea for a child to treat dad and better than the usual dad mug or dad socks presents. However cooking it at home would be nicer but then mum usually ends up doing most of it.

I love cooked breakfasts and would rather my kids took me to Morrisons for one than turn my kitchen into a greasy mess trying to cook me one. I've always found Morrisons food to be OK too but there'll always be food snobs out there (i appreciate that standards may differ store to store).

Surely it would be kinder to leave dad at home with his feet up & the TV remote, rather than dragging him around a supermarket on a weekend where parents fail to control their kids, long check out queues & getting road rage in the carpark when trolly pushers cant be bothered to walk the pedestrian routes & happy to step out in front of a moving car.

Morrisons in Watford i have never had a bad meal at and I find the breakfasts fab. All freshly cooked to order and no sitting under hot lamps getting all dried up like a lot of other supermarket or department store Cafès. I believe they use market street ingredients too. The fish and chips is excellent for the money too.

I think this is a great deal, and I'd much prefer one of these than my four kids (2yrs - 11yrs) making me a home made roasty.... burnt potatoes, muck and grease all over the kitchen, having to supervise them (hardly relaxing), oven to clean, dishwasher to load and unload... then there's the cost of the food - which would no doubt be burnt if the kid's are making it... Each to his own though!

I think this is a brilliant offer. A child could afford to treat their dad at this price. Not many kids can take their dad out for a meal normally. All you moaners - part of being a dad is putting up and shutting up with a smile on your face. It's called love..

I love Morrisons breakfasts.

I get them every now and then. Only complaint I've ever had really is that about 5 years ago I went there once and my hash browns were so overcooked they had gone completely solid... Forcibly stabbing them with the cutlery didn't even make a dent in them. They happily took the dish back and gave me some fresh ones in a matter of a couple of minutes, though. Never had any other problems besides! Really tasty food, and for the price (even when the right price) for the amount you get, great value as well.

Shame black pudding doesn't come as standard but you can ask for it as an extra, I think it's 50p or 60p or something for a couple of slices.

I have definitely had a half price breakfast at Morrisons - d't know if it was 'fathers day' offer....
And everyone got it for half price - without a 'father' in sight.

I rarely eat in any supermarket cafe, but must admit when I do go to the one near my parents (Uuuup North) the food is excellent quality.
As others have posted, most meals are cooked to order..... evening meals come with free tea or coffee.....
I frequently ask to swap items - eg I don't like chips, so will ask for new potatoes or jacket potatoes...
And with breakfast I swapped fried bread and sausage - for lots and lots of extra bacon.

Can anyone else confirm THIS current offer is only for 'fathers'?
Thanks

It's very good and made fresh but Wetherspoons is just as good and made fresh with much much better service (marathon queue to order/pay at Morrisons then often long wait for it to come) in a more quiet and spacious environment with option of outdoor seating at most too. Also much cleaner and tidier as Spoons have amazing cleaning regimes. (Never worked for them). And cheap every day.

Are people concerned about freshness with breakfasts, as long as its hot when it reaches you. The quality is better at Wetherspoons than my local Morrisons.
Although this is a good deal considering the normal price, but don't you get a free drink with any meal which is £4.50 at Morrisons?
