Cheaper than on the eShop and worth getting this 'cause Nintendo hasn't released a special edition (Player's Edition sorta thing) of MK8 with all the DLC content.

Sorry for being dumb. But is this an add on to the game?
And if it is what do you gain?

Yes, both the Zelda and Animal Crossing packs of DLC that have been released.

This is all the paid DLC but there's the free Mercedez DLC (hardly ever used any of the Mercedez in MK8) and the 200cc (Mario Kart 8 meets F-Zero) which are free.

It's extremely important that you know how to drift in Mario Kart 8 otherwise it's not as fun as it could be. I'd recommend the karts and bikes that allow to drift freely than the ones which only go in an almost straight line whilst drifting (feels more fluid, imo).

Btw, Nintendo tweeted this not too long ago but no release date or what exactly it means: https://twitter.com/nintendoeurope/status/738777797125144576
