Don't stick your tongue on it. It does exactly what you'd imagine.

Maybe on southern flies. Though as you'd expect, northern flies are rock hard and though a rolled up newspaper to the head stuns them for a second, they then spring back to life.

Initially I wasn't interested in this deal, but now I have to buy one and put my tongue on it :stuck_out_tongue::confused::stuck_out_tongue::confused:

Quite un nerving these. The one we had when you swatted a fly there was a loud pop sound and big Blue flash! You would think it was powered by a car battery!

Hahaha, Ilford PoundLand has some of these, if your interested?, hehehehe. :-)
I wish that I could get one powerful enough for the pesky birds in the garden.

I'd have categorised this under 'Adult fun'. I must get one. Him indoors will get a shock - him and his 'old fella' next time he comes at me with it.

It may be a criminal offence to use them on any other kind of fly.

Well, probably he finds other way to look for fun for his old fella then.
Good deal. Will get two if my local ones have.

That description was ace like your backhand slice but in my experience these things just do not work. Flies are becoming invincible. So your "Insect Terminator" title is about right.

the poundland ones from a couple of years ago are vicious, great for flying horrors but not so good for the walking type

These are brilliant. Had mine a few years. Batteries last ages and it even works on hornets. Particularly useful when camping if a wasp gets in your tent.

I do find that these don't always kill the insect, but will knock them out for a bit. So make sure you go in for the kill right after the pop and flash or you could be left with a very unnerving slow flying and very angry zombie wasp!

Very bad idea to kill wasps - they send out distress signals and their mates come looking for them apparently. In any case they're really handy to have around so please don't kill the poor things.

Nope. Actually does work on flies. Less messy than a swatter. Only downside is that they generate a bit more air disturbance which alerts resting flies as you move in for the kill so best used on moving targets.
