eBuyer are now stocking the HP Gen8 Micro Server; if you're looking to buy it together with the care pack it will work out cheaper if you buy both together as you get free delivery with eBuyer, or if you want to save a couple of more quid, buy the server from serversplus and the warranty pack from eBuyer.
HP are offering the following cashback (now extended to 30th June 2016):
£55 cashback on the server (HP Part No: 819185-421)
£25 cashback on the carepack (HP Part No: H1RM7E)
Servers Plus:
Server: £167.94 + £5.98 Delivery = £173.92 (after HP cashback = £118.92)
Server + Carepack: £167.94 + £64.74 + £5.98 Delivery = £238.66 (after HP cashback = £158.66
Potential 2% (or more, calculations based on 2%) eBuyer Quidco cashback (£4.51 w/ carepack and £3.51 w/o carepack) bringing it down to:

£117.22 w/o carepack
This has been recycled so many times this is almost normal price....

This is true but considering the demand and how many of these are in the homes of people on HUKD (and elsewhere) it's worthy of a repost if none of the old deals are about. The same can be said about deals for
- Pepsi/Coke
- Any Alcohol
- and so on
All posted regularly but doesn't mean that getting the better price by shopping elsewhere is any less relevant. If people didn't post stuff that's regularly on offer half the time people wouldn't know where to get the best price and at the end of the day save money which is why we're here.
As to the deal, not sure I personally value the care pack as there are so few complaints about microservers failing, especially when you consider the 24/7 nature of the devices. It's one of the things that attracted me to the older versions of the servers that there was so little in the way of reports of them going bang.
My own N40L is still going strong a little over 4 years later. Plenty of discussion around the even older N36L still going on too. All that said, the deal appears to be the best around for the overall package.

In all those detailed calculations you need to adjust for cashback being computed on the NET price ie excluding VAT - as found out from personal experience in last fortnight.
(They don't mention it on TCB, but they do work % on net as does Quidco which does at least say "Cashback may not be paid on VAT, delivery, card payment fees, taxes or any other additional charges")

they are brilliant little servers, but by now require a gen9. Back in Jan, I ended up getting a ML10 v2 instead

Thanks for the effort, but your posted price of £145.71 is after HP cashback, you need to change that to the pre-cashback amount as per the HUKD rules. You can have both prices in the title if you make it clear.

They are excellent but one PCI slot makes them unsuitable for myself as a whole house PVR as you can only get twin tuner tuner cards. I'm still using my old N54L for that purpose and it's been perfect.
Will be looking for a replacement soon I prefer to wait for another ML10 deal failing that a TS140 or T20.

I have a TS140 now and had a N40L before that, the TS140 is a great call in terms of power, as a Plex server it can handle so many more streams and transcoding is smoother. It is easier to work inside if adding RAM or graphics card, etc as well as it is more spacious. However, the Microserver has easier access to hard drives and is a brilliantly small package too.

The only reason for a carepack that i can think of is the BIOS and ILO firmwares as once you're out of your first year, you can't download them anymore without a valid care pack.. i found this recently but luckily one of mine was still in it's first year.
