Posted the i3 version earlier this week from Laptops direct, it is now available for £249 from tesco. Looking at the sale price, this now seems like the best bargain.
Core i5 and an SSD for sub £300, can't complain at that.
Hi everyone, this seemed the best place to write this so everyone could read. Once you've set this laptop up, you honestly will be very impressed and happy. From shut down to ready to go, takes approximately 9 seconds thanks to the 128gb ssd. It really is a very quick laptop with no lag. I mainly use it for browsing, and modifying an online e store. So I'm confident whoever orders this laptop will be really happy with the value for money they get.

If you still have it try disabling hibernation. You don't need it with a SSD in place as it boots up quickly as it is. With hibernation enabled when you power off the pc/laptop never actually shuts down. As the term suggests hibernation just puts it into a sleep-like state ready to wake up and very quickly pick up from the exact state it was in before you closed it down. That entails it holding everything you were doing in virtual memory (the hidden hiberfil.sys file on your hard drive) which can grow to several GB in size which is another reason to avoid hibernation on such a small SSD. Go into the console as administrator (Win+X keys then choose that option from menu) and enter "powercfg -h off" and restart. That'll delete the hiberfil.sys file and means no more pseudo shut downs so minimal if any battery used between bedtime and breakfast. Make sure you don't have any important tasks still to be completed before you do this as like I mentioned everything held in the hiberfil.sys file will be deleted on restart. The screen isn't the best but it can be tweaked to appear much better via the Intel graphics settings available right clicking on your desktop screen or in control panel. Also make sure you're keeping the HP updates current. I've updated the BIOS twice now. I think from memory my current BIOS is v.F21 rev.A whereas it came out of the box with a very outdated v.F1 one. Don't allow Microsoft updates to install driver updates while it updates Windows. It will replace drivers specifically designed for HP machines with its own which may be newer and will still work but can cause performance and compatibility problems down the line. Sign up for HP update emails and if your laptop really needs to have drivers updated they'll email you with download links. Obviously upgrade to 8GB of RAM on this laptop if it's a 4GB one you have (there's a few different deals on this one going around just now). That will help with graphics and screen appearance as well as overall performance.

Right this is now going back. Technology hasnt come far since i had my last laptop years ago. Screen is bothering me because it looks like 10year old tft. Much more alarming is the battery drain when switched off. I charge it full night before and switch it on to see 82% remaining? use for few minutes and switch off, fire up next day and only 42% remaining. Poor quality laptop on every front.

To me,£255 for the latest 6th gen core i5 processor plus a SSD which boots up in 10 seconds (i know it`s only 128gb but external storerage is dirt cheap anyway) makes it worth it.
The display is not the best but you have to compromise at that price or pay double.
As regards the HP warranty, mine shows eight months left but don`t forget Tesco, the retailer you bought it from gives a full 12 months.
Overall for £299/£284 it`s a great deal.

You get the latest Core i5-6200U (Skylake) CPU at a knockdown price, but for me the TN panel display was a let down, dull, flat, and you have to be viewing dead center or the colours wash out. The laptop arrived with a large mark on the plastic lid which did not come out. One last thing to check is the HP warranty online, mine showed only 7 months warranty remaining instead of the full 12 months. I've arranged a return & full refund, it's not a bad laptop for the money but I'm prepared to pay more for a better display.

I would upgrade the RAM and get an external hard drive to keep your data on (the internal SSD is a bit on the small side), it should do fine after that. Thanks OP heat! It's £299.99 inc. vat at ebuyer reduced from £325.65 so saving £25.66 with free bullguard security for those who want it.
I got one of these on eBuyer with a 500GB HDD for a tenner less. Have fun taking the bottom off to fit the extra 4GB RAM you'll undoubtedly need if you want your money's worth out of this laptop with good specs in every dept except for its stock-provided RAM. I saw the video on YouTube too and there's no way that was the first time the laptop shown in it was taken apart. Unless I got unlucky with one sealed so tightly you'll have to pull on the bottom of the case after unscrewing to the point you fear it's gonna snap in two but just keep going gently and it will eventually give and the rest is a breeze. 2nd time I opened it up to fit an SSD it came off a bit easier but there was still that point I thought the bottom might break in two. I checked with HP first if the warranty would remain intact after adding another 4GB and they confirmed it would but no more than 8GB RAM in total. When I read some reviews on eBuyer some people had put 16GB in theirs so voiding their warranties, but all reported great performance. In a few months of use with a 480GB SSD and 8GB RAM I've never felt it would benefit from more RAM. Maybe for gamers it would but I'm not one and this isn't really a gaming laptop regardless of how much RAM gets added to it. Great laptop though, I love it.
