For this deal to work you need to buy TWO dine in deals with TWO bottles of one variety of wine.
According to M&S staff the 'Wave Break Chardonnay" is normally £8 per bottle, but if you buy two it is £12 - a £4 reduction. for some reason at the till this discount is not cancelled but carried on so the 2 dine in deals work out to just £16.00.
The free side dish still works, but you will only get one (single transaction).
This has happened to me before but I wasn't told the reason last time.

the meal deal is a main, side, pud and a bottle of wine for 10 pounds. if you get 2 meal deals with that specific wine then because it buy 2 bottles get 4 pounds off, the meal deals are reduced from 20 pounds to 20-4 pounds =16 pounds.

Got 2 Dine-ins with the Chardonnay mentioned, (plus extra side for having a Sparkle a/c) and the extra £4 came off my bill. Bought other food too, incl. an extra bottle of Rose wine (hoping for a further 20% discount under the wines promotion) and got to use a £5 coupon off a £35 spend .
The 20% off 3 wines didn't work quite right so was part-refunded on the Rose wine.

Just bought 2 lots of dine in meals and only paid £11.74! Got the £4 off for wine, another £2 for free side and a further £2.26 with 20% off gastropub with sparks card. Given the way it is stacking up the deals, you could probably combine it with the 25% off wine when buying 6 bottles. Great spot!

Deal got even better for me - 2 bottles of chardonnay, 2 gastro pub mains, 3 sides, 2 desserts all for £13.79 as it also knocked 20% off the gastro pub meals which was an additional offer on my sparks card - and I had a £5 off voucher as my full shop came to over £35.

I believe it's any wine on the 2 for £12 deal that is included in he £10 meal deal. Check on the M&S site which wines are included in the £10 deal then check in store which they have available and on the 2x deal. In Blackburn they didn't have all the wines next to the deal shelves, I had to get them from the wine section.

It works with any wine that is included in the offer if the wine is already on promotion 2 for £12. The wine is normally £8 a bottle but on offer at 2 for £12 so it knocks the £4 reduction off the meal deal too. It works with any wine that is on the 2 for £12 offer and is included in the meal deal. Was talking to M&S staff last night at Leicester about this and we tried various wines through the till as they didn't believe me, they were amazed that it worked, some only knocked £3 off . The staff get extra discount also so they were all quite excited about it .
