Sounds like a good offer to cover plumbing risks for £1/pm for the first year, despite the waiting times and limitations on their covers.

This is their standard price. It does go on offer for 50p a month 2-3 times a year so might be worth the wait?

No brainer, especially if you've got leaky taps or radiator valves and such that you never get round to sorting out. But beware of the renewal price - £138 in my case, after two call outs. At least cancelling is easy.

Isn't this covered under home insurance?

There are different excess and exclusions on home insurance. Certainly can't be better than a no excess.

I don't think this will cover any heating related issues, including pipework, valves or radiators. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

OP (or anyone else) - is this based on experience that only first time applications will be covered? I had homeserve plumbing cover for 2 years until January but cancelled it as the renewal was too expensive. I can't see anything on the link that suggests old customers can't take this offer.

Home insurance will cover damage to drains, but blockages won't be covered. they will generally expect you to have the system unblocked initially to see if an insurance problem. Plumbing is excluded under most home insurance policies so seems a good deal and links in nicely with the home policy.

£136 is a lot of money. Better to have a friendly local plumber

So is £5500 but like your figure I fail to see what it has to do with this deal.

Thanks OP .... nice one, good top for my standard cover (but lower cost Home Insurance ) which doesn't cover leaking taps, drain blockages and the like. I'd needed to have taken Premier cover for that, and it was definitely more than £12.
