You don't need to spend £50 to get it, just buy things that come to £50 before discount
eg if you are buying 2 thing that are £25 and BOGOF then the system will see your £50 of goods and allow you the freebie even though you are only spending £25

Good find. I've tried with 2 x Orla Kiely sets, which are half price, so got it for a £25 spend. It seems to work with some promotions only.
