Lowest price ever on Amazon. I already have one. I wouldn't use my Dremel without it now, makes it so much easier to handle. Was very annoying trying to find one for around this price when I needed one.

I thought a nice firm rigid shaft would be preferable :man:

I bought one months ago from ebay at around £20, perfect. Also, would disagree with the Dremel definitely having to be above the shaft - I have used on underside of a car with the Dremel on the floor and the shaft being used above it

I suppose the main purpose is to make sure the cable is not bent at too sharper angle. I have seen people using them while leaving the Dremel part on tables and such, but I personally wouldn't feel too safe using it like that because it can roll about. I guess it's not going to go too far if you are already on the floor, but I would much prefer it to be secure.
You're welcome  Good spot! I hadn't see that

As a 58 year old I really don't wish to be reading about flexible shafts on HUKD of all places :man:

Flexible shaft is much easier to get through doorways.

It has a metal rod down the centre, so it is flexible but not exactly floppy.
I could show you how I handle the shaft if you like? You get the hang of it pretty quickly

I actually bought two from eBay. It was hellish. One I had to return because it was rusty, the other had already been used. Both claimed to be new, two different sellers. Would not recommend, took a couple of months to sort out.

Not sure you did much searching because there are dozens on Ebay for this price....and equivalent ones that fit for about £3/4. Cold from me.:disappointed:

Would you recommend using it without the hanging stand?

The Dremel definitely needs to be higher than the flexible shaft when you are using it. I don't have the stand myself, but I hang the Dremel on a tripod which I had anyway and works just as well. You could hang it from a hook or something else if you didn't want to buy the stand. It needs to be probably about a metre higher than whatever you are working on.
