I re-watched with my partner who had never seen it, when it fades to black at the end, I stopped it. she thought it was brilliant. shes never seen 'the final scene', don't want to spoil it for her.

I enjoyed all eight seasons, besides Season 8 as a whole is still more entertaining than a majority of films nowadays.

I really do recommend not watching season 8 - I used to love Dexter, but my motive to rewatch it has been lost due to how much the last season ruined the feel of it.

Great price OP - got mine for xmas last year (still in sellophane!) but I have seen all episodes! Definitely best season is 4 with The Trinity Killer.

I take it you haven't watched much television? The whole series is mildly diverting nonsense, with a few really good performances, but it's not even close to the bottom of the top tier of good TV.

The last season is rubbish, as is everything after season 4, but the much-criticised final scene is actually not that bad really - certainly no worse than the very similar ending to Breaking Bad.

Great series, the ending in my opinion was completely wasted, it was set up for a perfect ending(like breaking bad) but it failed pretty hard, I must be about the 20th person to say this so I do apologize lol.

Season 1 to 4 - amazing and gripping, season 4 was particularly immense. Season 5 and 6 - both similar and identical story-lines, didn't like the Colin Hanks season, very weird concept. Season 7 - Recovery. Season 8 - Don't even want to remember it.

Also Debra was a decent character at the start but by the end she became highly irritating.

A lot of shows manage to maintain being good for more than 4 seasons.

I finished season 7. I saw the borderline hatred that season 8 got. I've not bothered since.

Honestly this is a great show and seasons 1-4 are fantastic.

If you have got to season 7 I would definitely still watch season 8 though even though the ending is poor.

Yes I really liked this series apart form the way it ended. It seemed like they had lots of ideas they hadn't use so tried to squash them all into the end. I seem to remember reading they didn't even like the end themselves and wanted to come back and do a better one.

I'd watch 8 seasons of anything at that price!

Great series, highly recommended but echo the comments about the terrible ending.

I didn't mind the last few seasons. Sure, the first four were better, but they weren't awful.
