I heard overwatch isn't great for single player story mode though...and only good for online campaigns...That true?

Well Overwatch doesn't have a single player campaign. Only training modes. The multiplayer is great fun and very easy to get into with a lot of depth despite its simple first appearance. Battle born feels like it was manufactured for esports while Overwatch will probably be picked up by esports for its own merit if you get my meaning.
The added merit to Overwatch is that anyone is welcome to play while Battleborn feels more geared towards hardcore team players. Make of that as you will.

This game is nothing like Overwatch. Literally not even close to the same genre. Battleborn has a story mode which is enjoyable but is only a side addition the multiplayer which is the main focus with this game. Similar games would most likely be league of legends/smite/paragon and other first person mobas. This game is pretty much a first person shooter moba with a capture mode and story mode added on. The story mode is decent with friends but pretty dull playing alone.

Shame, love Borderlands 2 but sounds like this is overly geared towards online multiplayer...call me antisocial but I'd like a good old fashioned single player story/mission based shooter where I don't have to rely on others to enjoy it.
