Animal crossing Amiibo are the only ones I will not buy, not only do I see very little need for them but getting a complete collection (which I'm compelled to do with everything I collect) would be very expensive since there could literally be hundreds of Amiibo in this series.

That is entirely sensible if you don't have kids. They really make the kids happy though. At least the Animal Crossing Amiibos are probably the easiest to collect at good discount prices.
