Visiting Home Bargains in Waterlooville I discovered piles of Airfix Series 1 models at the bargain price of £2.99 a piece.
Kits included:
Spitfire Mk 1
Spitfire Vb
Spitfire F Mk 22
Hurricane Mk 1
Douglas Dauntless
LCVP
And a couple of others. All at 1:72 scale (tanks may have been 1:76, can't remember!).
Stock seemed plentiful and scale model groups on Facebook are reporting the same deal across the country.
Although some are now discontinued on the Airfix website the RRP of those still on there is £7.99 or £5.99. Great value so I treated myself to a selection of 4!

stock varies from branch to branch - so you will have to give the store a call and confirm what's in stock before you travel and if necessary reserve the model(s) if you require any.

Hot and thanks for the post. (Yet more to add to an ever increasing collection of models to make before I pop off.). I managed to bag 3 different spitfires a mk Vb, a mk22 and a prxix, also grabbed a Mustang p51-d, a hawk red arrow, and a De Havilland Vampire from the southend-on-sea branch.

Sounds like you had a better selection than I did in Waterlooville; would've loved to get my mitts on the Mustang, Hawk and Vampire! Never mind, I'm sure I can visit again soon :stuck_out_tongue:

Three branches in stoke (Tunstall, Burslem and Freeport) have a mix of stock including 1:32 scale figures. A lot of the kits are new tool making them extremely good value for money at £2.99 each. I've come across
