Just had offer of £99 accepted - £10 less than asking, and £50 less than new on Argos, Tesco etc. I think this will do the job for web surfing, and if I really can't get on my 2 year old will have it to bang on.

Funny I have been running on ChromeOS only for 6 months and never missed windows once.
No more Sloooow updates waiting minutes for it to boot, no more viruses etc to worry about, no more windows . . . . .
I have my old windows box sat in the corner in case I need it but the dust is building up . . . .
And now my Chromebook is about to get all the Android apps etc (Its an Acer R11) so even less need for Windows.
Oh and its not gimped, gimp is an open source image editor. Hey its so ad its now the number 2 Laptop/desktop OS in the USA outselling Mac's . . .
Maybe you should look again at the best OS for the mass's...

Love my chromebook. Everyone in the office was issued with one for work purposes and there have been fewer issues with working from home since. Can't fault it.

People, do your research. A gimped laptop is a gimped laptop for life, you won't have saved anything rather regretted the day you spent on said hardware. Just plan carefully.

This has been confirmed to be getting Android app support! Sounds good to me.
