Every time I get an email from ebay regarding 25% off fees they SHOUT IT IN YOU FACE but 75% and the subject is "Thanks for selling on eBay this year". Some serious marketing flaws, would never have opened that email unless I seen this so heat up!

Brilliant, I can sell all the expensive stuff I bought last month, that I didn't really need, and not lose too much. Ready for re-investment in more HUKD
Don't think so no. Never bothered. I just see my final value fee after sale. As you are just changing price I'm sure you will be fine.

Ok thanks. Once I've changed the prices is there any way to make sure the offer is still there, just in case ebay have changed it? I don't want to risk it as I would lose quite a bit if the normal fees applied.
Babbler
5 Jul 162#135
I mean when this offer comes up I create 40 "blank" listings as "bookmarks" and change them as and when I get a chance to proper listings. That way I can change all month and only get charged the offer price. IE I dont have to sit there and list lots in one day and take my time over the month.
misa426
5 Jul 16#134
What do you mean by 40 blank listing and £1 for a month?
Babbler
5 Jul 16#133
I have done this a few times. To the point where I completely change a listing. It still applies to it. I have about 40 blank listing and use them every time an offer comes up for 30 days so I can list for a quid for a month.
Ebay have not stopped this and I hope they don't hence I asked not to email them and bring attention to it. Knowing my luck that will now change :disappointed:

You can relist and you'll be able to see that it's worked because your remaining listings under this offer will start to reduce (visible from the selling page).
I'd still like to know whether it's possible to revise a listing after the offer has ended and still be eligible for this offer? I may have to ask ebay that one...

Everyone should really have multiple accounts, they're quite legal and can sometimes mean you get slightly different promos on each.
Another reason, and perhaps the most important one, is to use different accounts for buying and selling, so nobody can check what you're up to - whinging buyers I mean really, the sort who might see you bought something for a fiver, it wasn't suitable for some reason, so you are able to resell for more than you paid. Along comes ar*e*ole buyer and leaves you negative feedback because you didn't give it away free or something (It's happened to some sellers).
Yet another reason for multiple accounts is to use one for posting on ebay forums, so if you say something to upset somebody, they won't buy one of your listings and claim not received, negative feedback etc - that has also happened to some sellers.

Very useful promo this one, as it spans two different months, so you can decide whether to use it now or wait until the start of July - I'm still getting the 100 free listings per day for this month, so I'll wait until July in case they decide not to continue them, and I can then use this promo to get an extra 100 for unsold stuff.
Cameron92
28 Jun 16#76
Doesn't matter that they take less fees when the buyer scams you by returning their faulty/fake item instead of your working/genuine one and PayPal/eBay automatically side with them - you end up losing all your money anyway!

It's worth checking your ebay account or seller dashboard every day in case there's a promo - some are for one day only, although that's very rare.
Wish I had a pound for everyone who posts on the ebay forums about offers they've missed by a day or so, because they don't check their account often enough.

There are people with -1 feedback, for example the person that purchased a pair of headphones from me then claimed they didn't work. eBay forced me to except he returned them but instead he sent back two g4 40w bulbs in order to gain a tracking number & signed for delivery! To eBay's credit they believed me although insisted I file a report with Action Fraud. Buyer became -1 feedback.

Indeed so. The way round that I use - successfully - is to add a line to the listing making it clear that you won't sell to zero or negative feedback buyers unless they contact you first for approval. It adds a degree of control, and it's never let me down - even with risky items such as mobiles.

Just thought I'd add that you can't "refuse to accept returns". Ebay generally rule in favour of the buyer and if they have any issues and decide to send the item back to you via tracked delivery, you'll HAVE to provide a refund whether willingly or unwillingly when Ebay intervene.

Sell on Gumtree for cash no fees
They seem to like their usual 300 odd quid worth of fees from me
Oh well, we keep fighting
The fees on eBay kill it for me - I don't much care about the PayPal ones but eBay fees are too much which is frustrating because I Gumtree/Schpock etc don't have the same sales rates for me.
- Login to eBay, go to 'MyeBay', then 'selling' ('All Selling' if already in the MyeBay menu)...scroll all the way down to the bottom, your current offers for selling should be listed there under an orange tab that says 'Promotional Offers'. You will need to click the blue 'Get Offer' button to acccept. -

Except the buyer hasn't paid. And knowing the way people behave on eBay...he probably won't.
Pity I don't appear eligible for this offer so I can't relist.
People, grrrr, annoying.
Ive basically stopped selling other than offers (75% or max fee £1) might have to wait a few weeks / a month but so much better
