doesn't work abroad, won't work with giffgaff sim either. source = me, used to work in o2 until about a month ago and did tech support for these things...

there is only one model of zte device that can be unlocked, its not this one unfortunately. you can change the apns but won't work with other sims - its for changing between PAYG and contract

I have one, and I got it unlocked by using something online. I don't remember what, it took me a good couple hours to find something that actually worked.

Interesting. I've successfully used giffgaff sims in several Mi-Fis, dongles and wingles - E5573, E8278s for example.
So long as the APN is set correctly on the Mi-Fi admin page, it's gone just fine.
What was the problem with giffgaff on MF60s? edit: soz: it's locked to O2, that's why. My bad ...
