Totally false, the combat areas are far more open and vertical than they were in any of the previous games, there are always various ways of approaching it rather than just being funnelled down a set path.

This game is simply an unbelievable technical achievement.

Without a doubt one of the greatest games in history; finishing a legacy which started way back with Tomb Raider 1 on the PlayStation.

Finished the game and whilst its a good game the combat has gone backwards in my opinion,the combat is now mostly cut scenes with prompted button presses,there is less free movement in this game than any of the other uncharteds you can simply just keep hold off the pad in one hand on most of the combat scenes and wait for the inevitable (press triangle prompt)

I'm surprised people ate not comparing this with The Order coz of the amount of cut scenes. Can't remember the others having so many

The legacy is the open 3D platform game centred around treasure hunting. Tomb Raider was an intent to recreate the excitement of the Indiana Jones.

Uncharted has largely finished that legacy with a masterpiece.

Tomb Raider will still continue but it is highly unlikely Uncharted 4 can be topped until the next generation of gaming arrives.

So yes thesinstar; you are missing something.

This game is so good, I bought a PS4 just to play it! and also had to make another post in this thread just to say how jaw droppingly amazing this game is. There's me thinking console gaming is dead, best game on any platform I reckon, and somehow they managed to compete on graphics as well. I can't say enough at how good this game is, I'm just over halfway through at episode 11.

If there is one slight criticism personally it's that some adventuring sections to get a tad bit longer than needed (eg scotland, but that part ends brilliantly), some of the longer chapters (like scotland and chapter 11) should have been split in two which would have addressed this. But still a fantastic game and a graphical powerhouse which works my C chassis ps4 like mad.

This game is actually INCREDIBLE. Worth every penny.

Very nice price for this. I'm going to stick with my £54 order from GAME given that I'm using credit, which can be bought for somewhere around £45 (besides, it doesn't seem to offer a cancellation option on the order anyway :smirk:), but this is a tempting alternative!

The Division has some fantastic attention to detail, but you surely can't be suggesting that the dull grey, subdued tones of New York would work well in a game like this. The fact Uncharted is bright, colourful and looks rich and organic is what makes it so pretty and at times, quite breathtaking.

Nope definitely this,its a good game its just become far too reliable on combat cut scenes with prompted button presses,press square to attack square again wait for the cut scene were you are held/grappled them press the triangle flashing at you on screen to escape ,rinse repeat

No, not suggesting that, just need the primary colours toned down a bit, it pulls me away from any realism the game has left, , some of the ledge jumping and one hand catching in these uncharted games are already frankly ridiculous, as the game seems to desperately want me to believe i'm playing a movie with its cinematic tones. so these primary rich colours detract from that, they are much too saturated

Yes the sea and sky can get away with a rich blue, and the trees can be a primary green, but not everything! needed toning down

Neil Druckman is a co writer here, he may be responsible for some of the better lines in the game, however frankly i feel in general the dialogue is weak. his writing style may be more suited to other games. He hasn't received any writing awards for this franchise. the story is extremely similar to the previous uncharted games.

If i hit photo mode i would have thought there was no FPS at all, as it's a still!?? :neutral_face:

Anyway, with regards to the over the top primary colours, yes it feels a little too cartoony for my liking, it feels like i'm playing a nintendo game in places.

They have their opinion, and i have mine, i don't read game site reviews, they mostly cannot be trusted, they get paid off. At least my opinion is non biased

Perhaps you are a little slow, i wil try to help you out, but i've had no training for special needs

Press L3 and R3 and you enter photo mode.

Then you can adjust saturation, amongst other things, lower the saturation a little and the game immediately looks better, but still not perfect as you lose some colour in other areas, it's a shame that i cannot keep those colour adjustments for the game itself. Adjusting the colour on my TV or projector doesn't produce the same results sadly. The previous uncharted games on the PS3 were massively primary, the PS4 isn't anywhere near as bad as those, but it still is too much

Now, unless you have a different version than me, or maybe you don't even own the game, the framerate, the hertz of my TV, or what i had for breakfast are all completely irrelevant for the point i was making, which was that the game has too many primary colours in certain places removing some of the realism

Now, if that wasn't clear enough, it's probably best you don't reply anymore as i cannot be bothered to argue with morons, i have an opinion, it clearly differs from yours. There is no more to discuss here

I think you have some learning difficulties, what i write and what you read appear to be different things. but i think i can see what you're talking about, and it's your misinterpretation.

Don't think i claimed my ps3 and TV was a camera, but you can take screen grabs in photo mode, which is what it's designed for, but you probably haven't worked out how :smile::smile:
